what exactly was the witch's prophecy?

didn't cersei have 4 kids? on tv, when bran was in a coma, she told caitlyn about some kid she had who died.

cersei already got cast the **** down

but as for who will kill her.... i'd say jamie is the favorite, followed by tyrion and jon and arya

Rewatched episode 9, season 3 today. When Bran is telling the story of the rat cook, about how he ate a pie made with meat from his son, Bran says that was not why he was cursed. He was cursed because he broke the guest rights. Then scene changes to Walder Frey talking to Roose right after the Red Wedding. You make the connection about the guest rights when you're watching, but only last season Walder went full rat cook and ate his own pie made from his sons meat.

Trailer makes this season look very streamlined. Hit this plot point then this one and then bang finish.

pretty easy to tell when the show didn't have any books to work off of and only had the outline.

I'm sure I'll still enjoy it but doesn't seem even close to being ready to end.

are you saying that because the other trailers were different or because you had read the books that the trailers were based on?

Just looking at the the scenes they chose to show and trying to grasp how fast this will have to move in order to fit them all in.

thats kind of how I imagine the last couple books going, everything has to fall into place really fast with a lot of action and conclusions and then maybe we get a few surprising twists in there

I'm guessing both books will be longer than a storm of swords. He will be able to put out a ton of plot.

The show looks like it's dropping most of the westeros plot entirely. If Dany is getting up to the north quickly enough for all that climactic battle stuff how many episodes does she have in the south?

I imagine everything related to the throne will be dealt with this season only to deal with the WWs in the final season.

cool observation! thanks!

i've noticed a couple times in the early seasons when they say something about the targarians, and then cut to jon snow.

i also like how old maester aemon talks to jon snow, and they are related.

it's ironic how he's a bastard and scorned, but his blood is maybe the most noble of all of them.

it's also completely ridiculous and ****ed up how ned never told his wife and jon the truth. jesus

Unless Rhaegar secretly married Lyanna, which is possible, I guess, Jon is still a bastard.

yeah, there is just sooooo much more going on in the books. the entire Euron plot (he is going to have a big role to play, I'm on board with the Eldritch Apocalypse theories), GRRM has said the Tyrells have a big role to play (and they are now gone from the show), GRRM has already said he is going to explore the real north (which was skipped in the show).

but the show looks like it is sprinting to the end

GRRM has confirmed 8 books, right? That means we're not even 2/3 of the way through yet - still time to cover anything he wants (assuming he finishes, which odds would be no better than even money, right?).

I was curious as well, so I looked it up

http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Maggy

Quote:
Maggy is squat and warty, with crusty yellow eyes, no teeth, and pale green jowls.[1]

Maggy came to Lannisport as a young woman, brought by her husband who had been trading spices in the East. Their son was the founder of House Spicer.[2] She is the grandmother of Samwell Spicer, Sybell Westerling, and Rolph Spicer.

As a girl, Cersei Lannister sought Maggy after hearing rumours about her magical powers. Cersei and her friends Jeyne Farman and Melara Hetherspoon went to her during the tourney for King Aerys II's visit to the Westerlands, at which Cersei became enamoured of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen.

Jeyne fled the scene at the sight of Maggy's yellow eyes. Maggy initially refused to tell the futures of the remaining girls, but grudgingly agreed faced with Cersei's threats. She allowed Cersei three questions and made the prophecy of the valonqar (High Valyrian for "little brother"), which haunted Cersei thereafter. When Melara took her turn, Maggy predicted that she would die young, and hinted that it would be by Cersei's hand. Dissatisfied, Cersei threw a jar of potion into Maggy's eyes and fled, leaving Maggy to curse them both.[3][4][1]
Quote:
Cersei: When will I wed the prince?
Maggy: Never. You will wed the king.
Cersei: I will be queen, though?
Maggy: Aye. Queen you shall be... until there comes another, younger and more beautiful, to cast you down and take all that you hold dear.
http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Valonqar

Quote:
Valonqar is High Valyrian for "little brother". It is the word used by "Maggy", a maegi and fortune teller, in her prophecies to Cersei Lannister and Melara Hetherspoon.[1]

Quotes
And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.[2] ”
– Maggy, to Cersei Lannister
So if this prophecy (from the books anyway) holds, it will be Tyrion (obv younger brother) or Jaime (her twin, but born after her so still younger). But before she dies she loses the throne to Dany?

There's also a theory on that site that the prophecy actually referred to a female if you're interested in diving down that rabbit hole.

http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Valonqar/Theories

I am not sure if the fact that she miscarried has ever been reconciled to this via the show?

I'd love to know what the outline given the show runners looks like. For example if it says "valonquar kills ceresei" I'd be ecstatic compared to if it says "Jaime kills cersei"

I like the Alt Shift X video, though I did chuckle at the part where he says Dragonstone "looked" much cooler in the books even though of course there are no pictures of it in the books (A World of Fire and Ice notwithstanding).

I just noticed during the one trailer that Dany is at Dragonstone, dunno why I didn't put that together before but she's walking around Stannis' old battle map table there. I guess it make sense for her to go there since it was her family's house seat (plus it should be mostly vacant currently)
