Re: Friday Night Lights S5 (The Final Season)

looks like they gonna go Cam Newton with Vince and his dad. It already started with the TMU shirts and shoes. I like how this is being written though. Vince's dad isn't trying to screw his kid over and actually thinks he is helping him. He's just in way over his head.

Nice to see Street back. I'll just look the other way and accept that he is a full fledged agent now with no law degree or even a college degree. It was weird that he sat at practice with an East Dillon jersey on though.

wtf happened to the McCoys? I guess the coach got fired after they lost to East Dillion last year.

IN real life, who is actually getting paid for their job? Just Coach Taylor, are his like 7 assistants just doing it part time out of the goodness of their heart/love of the game? It seems like a ton of work/investment etc from them, hard to hold down a real job etc.

Nah I think some of the assistants get paid, presume each school has a budget to use for it's program.

I was wondering this, too. I can understand when Santiago disappears, but did I miss the explanation for the McCoys?

My school of like 350 has multiple paid assistants. At a school like East Dillon even, I'd guess they found the money for a few assistants. The one dude said he'd volunteer. Riggins probably volunteers. So that's really only one other main assistant to pay, right?

Re: Friday Night Lights S5 (The Final Season)

wow things getting tense.

So awesome how this show can make you go from loving a character to hating him in a week (Vince's Dad) without it being unrealistic at all.

3 weeks is a long time to wait until the next episode

Re: Friday Night Lights S5 (The Final Season)

Disappointed we didn't get any Wade Aikman or JD McCoy, I really hope it was because of other acting commitments and not an intentional choice by Katims.

The rest of the episode was great, I love that they are making East Dillon into The U of Texas.

So are we to assume that Aikman and the McCoys just bailed town then?

Re: Friday Night Lights S5 (The Final Season)

Didn't Dillion have a black quarterback during the game?

Seems weird that they couldn't just stick a white guy in a helmet that could pass for JD or have Sammy mention something about JD in the background on the radio show

Pretty sure our hs football coach makes like $5k extra a year for coaching football. The coaches do it because they love it and I assume some are looking to use it as a stepping stone to coach in college. Guys like Riggins are obv volunteering or making very little money.

Is next week the season finale? If not does anyone know how many eps are left? ty
