Chilltown:

Spoiler:

Wrong Zoom. In the comics Barry's mom was killed by Professor Zoom a celebrity stalker from the future and essentially Hunter's predecessor as Reverse (yellow) Flash. Hunter is a Wally West villain.

Real spoilers, not speculation:

Spoiler:
Professor Zoom has probably already been introduced in the series

I'm not a fan of Captain Cold's super stiff personality. He is much more of a sympathetic criminal in the comics with a much stricter moral code.

Love his new age outfit though.

I wouldn't click if you haven't read the Flash comics, we're sort of assuming with the full deck of cards here.

Spoiler:
I know he's the wrong zoom but he's so Hunterish. The wheelchair, the wanting Barry to be a better hero angle, it feels like him. Geoff Johns made him the main villain of his comic book run so there's a connection there. Could just be drawing inspiration from him and combining him the other alterations of the characters.

Yeah I know the name you are referring to (as of last week lol, I was like "wait wat is that dude's name again?") but based off personality and interactions so far I feel like it's not him...yet. I guess we sort of know how that potential story is going to play out already.

I'm much more annoyed that he stops in front of each person announcing "I am going to fight you now! But since I am standing here doing nothing but yelling, you have plenty of time to strategize and get the first shot off!"

Because, you know, just running up behind someone and cracking them upside the head isn't effective or anything.....

Yeah I feel like if you gave me free reign to plan out action scenes, then I would make them within reason and be way more cool.

Barry vs The Mist needed some arm tornadoes.

The building was cool but using "how fast would I have to go to....." twice in the same episode is pretty lame

Maybe I missed something but doesn't that beg the question as to how Barry knows the speed he is running?

Next time Barry asks, someone should just say PDF.

yea true. not like he has an internal odometer. But otoh I suppose you could make the argument that when he was testing his max speed in the lab he could get the 'feel' for how fast he was running

and while we're on the subject, lol at the part where Barry somehow knows to drop the body seconds before it splodes. I mean cmon if this wasn't a tv show it would have blown up with him still holding her

Nice one. I do feel they should've used the banshee albino instead. Way creepier. (Bansheegaybino is also in GoT)

Marathoned the last 4 today, and thought it's starting to fray in the last two episodes (first three were really enjoyable, last two not as much). I don't feel like I'm being hurt too much by not knowing the comic history.

I think its so annoying every comic show keeps the love interest in the dark. I don't know if its the actress or what they are given to do but after people had issues with Laural on Arrow I would think they would try something else. I know the same thing happened on Smallville but that was more of everyone in the dark.

The show very much seems to be following the path of Arrow in a lot of ways. It's very obvious he'll reveal it to Iris eventually, but part of the burn in shows like this (nonsensically) is that the audience is forced to wait. I think the Iris character is a decent character, but I hate the cop partner, and hate the Iris/cop partner relationship. It really drags the show down. The show's also heavily leaving the humor behind as it devolves more into a superhero type show. Levity is really important in a show like this, and it's part of why Arrow tended to work really well in season 1, if I remember correctly.

By this time next season I have a feeling the "cop partner" will be very important

show is getting worse every episode imo, was barely interested whole episode.

also wish they'd let one of the "good" villains of the week who has powers but isnt a bad guy live for once.

old cop guy was way too amused by barry altering his voice.

all the alcohol scenes were silly and boring

Smallville was so much worse with that stuff cause everything time someone learned who Clark was you could tell with almost 100% accuracy whether they'd be dead by the end of the episode or arc (minor character) or have a memory coconut dropped on their head (major character).

Dunno, that is probably exactly how I'd react in that situation. Remember, supers, or meta-humans, are all really new so it's not like they've had decades to get used to Superman and other famous superheroes and villains and the stuff they can do.

Don't agree. I mean I'd rank Flash behind Arrow, Gotham, and even slightly Agents right now, but it's still a good show. And with Grodd coming up, plus we're expected to see more of Captain Cold/Heat Wave, things are gonna get better.

What do you mean for once? She was the first "good" villain. We had Mist, Captain Cold, Clyde Mardon....remind me who the the other good villains were?

Regardless, I see this as the first of many "good villains" as you described, and they touched on the morals briefly..."where are we going to put them? The pipeline?". Now I doubt Flash adds metahuman after metahuman to his team, so I imagine everytime we run across these types of metahumans one of two things will happen: either they will have to be killed, or somehow the team will find a way to de-power them and let them go on with their lives. Can't really blame the showrunners for following that line.

Wasn't he drunk? I may be wrong, but I could have swore I saw him drinking when Barry came in and maybe saw a bottle on the desk he was sitting on. Could be wrong.

Don't agree. They were funny. What bugged ME about the scenes is how a forensic scientist who had already been taught about his super fast metabolism in a previous episode couldn't figure out that he obviously wouldn't get drunk. Him asking Caitlin why it was happening was an obvious play by the writers to explain the science behind it.

You'd think this would be the one point of yours I'd agree with, but lol, I don't

They would have altered his voice in post, so Joe was "reacting" to his normal voice (unless he sucked in some helium right before the take, which might have been really funny in real life).

I agree he was a little big there, but it's similar to telling someone what a visual effect is going to be and asking them to act against something that doesn't exist. Most of the time it works fine, but sometimes it's too big or too small of a reaction.

Regarding the ending cage scene, pure speculation, but I will throw out this idea

Spoiler:
Maybe the Dr is being controlled by Grodd.

He could have come back in time to observe Barry only to get mind controlled.

Which doesn't really make sense since he would have to know about Grodd's abilities...

Yeah I dunno what is going on there
