I'm liking the casting for Bobby I think. Granted she's not big enough, but how hard must it be to find a beautiful giant Samoan woman that can act? Pretty tall order to exactly nail the character.

It's going to hard for her to pull off being physically imposing.

First two episodes were good, nice that they stuck with the fast pace of season 1.

But yee gods the budget seems to have gotten even smaller.

The only weak link for remains the actor playing Holden...he just doesn't carry the unique "special everyman" quality that Holden should have....he doesn't seem like someone people would follow.

Small nitpick tho.

I certainly pictured him as more of an older, gnarled vet, whereas this one is a bit of a pretty boy. He just doesn't feel quite right to me, but it's certainly not a deal-breaker.

Holden should be Rick Grimes. He would be so good here, he is so good at playing the upholding moral character that can get down and dirty when needs be, and putting off a face that doesnt give away where you have him.

This is such a weird little nit but yeah, everyone is way too good looking(besides Miller, who Jane nailed, and Naomi, who is supposed to be hot).

Amos is just like, a regular bro. He's written as like a lumbering oaf. Bobby is a normal tallish woman instead of being an Amazon. I normally don't go for that sort of fanboying but the show is going really far afield here.

More seriously, it sort of gives the show a CW-like vibe and sort of takes away from the grittiness of it. Holden nearly dies from radiation poisoning but still has an 8 pack for the shirtless scenes.

As somebody who hasn't read the books, I'm having a hard time understanding the interest in this show. I mean, it's not terrible. I'm still watching it. But it's never risen above the level of 'slightly better than average low budget sci-fi' for me.

I'm really liking the cast now, except for my nit-pick of the Holden actor. When I read the last book, I pictured the cast of the show instead of my original mind-pictures of the crew...but Holden was still the 40-ish regular guy I first pictured...

the acting on this show is really mixed. some of the actors are soooooo awful. it's cringeworthy. i think the bad writing doesn't help

im guessing the directors aren't very helpful either.

it's amazing that last season there was that amazing actor who played the king on The Crown, Jared Harris. he KILLED that role!!

the extras are so bad it's laughable.

over all the show is ok.

i like the books, but i haven't read all of them. i just finished book 3

I did think it was funny when Johnson spaced that one guy, and the rest of the Belters are shown falling in line to fight for Johnson....and one of the Belters is a squat, chubby woman.

I was wondering if they'd have Miller kill Dresden like in the books...and they did. Amos is definitely the most interesting character.

in the book dresden deserved it so much more. i don't know why they changed it for tv.

in the book dresden was acting like a complete ahole, entitled, smug "ha ha you got me, and i'm a monster, but you need me, and i'm special so i get a pass"

tv didn't give us that
