Is Pond special in some way? I have only just started watching this season. It cant be a coincidence that Pond is pregnant and theres a kid on the loose, could that kid be River? Why is River in Jail? For killing the doctor?
I would watch last season it should be downloadable somewhere not just for the Pond back story but other stuff as well. I think there are going to be nods back to it in the story arc of this season.

This weeks pirate episode was as bad as I expected, but hoping for very big things next week.

Is that the first time they have shown the inside of the Tardis other than the main control room?

whoah, I don't think I've ever been as confused as to what was going on as the last couple episodes. I imagine it makes more sense on a re-watch but I definitely feel like I was thinking on the (n-1)th dimension

Epic ending on the last 2 episodes, seems like we have at least two, possibly four? series arcs now!

Damn, that was cool.

Dunno if i put it in the thread or just thought it, but the names pond and river i just assumed were lazy uncreative naming to have two characters with water based names. That was awesome.

great ep, not too keen on the final 2 minutes though, basically because it wasnt a shock. Was obvious the kid had to be River.

Been watching the last season the last couple of days. Im enjoying the references to The Silence that are thrown in.

That was a manic episode. felt like a two-parter squeezed in to one at times lol. excellent though. totally didn't expect the flesh-baby, even though the weird woman had said "let him think he's won right until the end" I still fell for it and thought they'd actually won! didn't expect a mid-season break either

When Rory went to recruit River in jail, did anybody notice the sad way she was talking to him? She could be in jail for killing her father.

um, no. She killed the Doctor. We even saw her do it (if its anyone else besides River in the spacesuit I'll eat this post).

Yeah, River is the little girl in the astronaut suit imo.

Come on, River was watching the whole thing (after breaking out of jail she was in for the murder, so it couldn't have been an older River). She seemed just as surprised as Amy and Rory. Then she goes and shoots at herself in the suit? I mean, I guess it could be an older River, but then she would be in jail for another murder.

I may be wrong, but doesn't she say she killed the best man she ever knew? (or something to that effect) After the cheesy buildup about "demons run when a good man goes to war", it has to be the Doctor imho.

Also don't forget we saw the little girl regenerate as well.

Yeah, I agree the "best man I ever knew" line was supposed to lead us to think it was the doctor, but that could almost make us rule out the doctor (not really, but but a lot of times those leads are meant to lead in the wrong direction). But a lot of people would say their father is the best man they ever knew. Seriously, go re-watch the part of A Good Man Goes to War where Rory goes to see River in jail, when she first sees it's him she's really sad for some reason.

That was the trouble there seemed like there was too much going on but in fact there was not not much at all so many irrelevant unfleshed out characters. It tried to build the "Battle" up to way more than it was. River said somthing along the lines of it being the highest he has risen and the furthest he has fallen really didnt seem anything as epic as that.

Will see where the main arc goes but not really enjoying the Moffat era as much as I had hoped, although I do like Matt Smith.

I like the episodes where the doctor is badass and shows his darker side. Its why the episode with the family is my favourite, where at the end he locks them away inside the hearts of stars or in the reflections of all the mirrors in the universe etc.

But id agree for its badass buildup the end didnt deliver. Also the mid season break is really stupid and i hate the bbc for doing it. There is no excuse.

Well, there is Torchwood next month, so that vaguely passes as an excuse, but its flimsy.

Just caught up on the Doctor Who reboot and Torchwood over the last 3 months. Definitely alot of fun. The Moffat run has been interesting. The show hasn't been as good on an episode to episode basis but he really knows how to plot a season. Can't wait for the back 6 this fall.

It was sometimes difficult getting into Torchwood during the first 2 seasons. Just seemed like there was way more structure than Doctor Who. Children of the Earth was obviously great and the promos for Miracle Day look ridiculously good.

Also Karen Gillan is amazing.

Ive avoided the promos and everything for Miracle Day, but i can never pass up an opportunity to say just how damn amazingly good Children of Earth was.

The first two season of Torchwood it was just a poor younger brother to DW, but it grew up and produced the best season of the two shows in CoE.

When is torchwood due to air on BBC? am I gonna have to get the Starz versions or will we be airing at a similar schedule?

Early july. 7th iirc.

Edit, oh, good question. I assumed both aired on the same date but that might be wrong.
