I'd rather provision with the ****ing Sioux.

Nice one.

Either no one cares about my game (likely), or it was easier than I thought to get a perfect score. I thought a couple of them might not be so easy to name the character.

Started yet another rewatch a couple days ago. Almost done with S2. I can't believe how often I notice something I missed before. Such a GOAT show.

One of my fave quotes...

YTF, sorry but I had no clue on most quotes. I could make some guesses but that's all they'd be. I've watched the series many times but I just can't place most of them, else I'd play for sure.

Rich, that's one of the best scenes/lines of the series obviously. The stare down on Al's exit making sure Merrick processes everything is powerful. I feel it was reinforcing the importance of Merrick's work to the town and strengthening his self-image at the same time. Al might as well have been staring at the camera telling everyone watching the same about themselves. I know I've thought of this quote during tough times.

Another thing I love about that scene is when Al says "that's three times" he raises four fingers and then retracts his pinky to make three. Scripted or not I like it.

Hey, someone cares! Here are the answers:

I think not. I think no.

Spoiler:
Jack McCall, declining an offer to buy his gun so he'd have gambling money.

Why the **** is everybody whispering?

Spoiler:
Jane, getting frustrated by Jane and Martha speaking so softly.

We may be pelted with refuse.
Spoiler:
Bullock, to his wife, about the upcoming speeches.

Shall i urge you to reconsider?
Spoiler:
Love this one, use it all the time. It's Adams' response to Swearengen's order to delete the bribe from Jarry's offer of annexation.

I dont think he took your point. Quite.
Spoiler:
Utter to Hickok, after Brom left them with, "I quite take your point."

Does that signal a willingness to wager?
Spoiler:
The challenge to Tom that resulted in the great bicycle spectacular.

Thats all the cleverness on that subject I'm inclined to hear from you.
Spoiler:
Ellsworth, getting annoyed at Farnum's commentary about the sex going on upstairs in Widow Garrett's room.

Will you PLEASE GTFO of here, sir?
Spoiler:
that guy who gets hanged in the opening scene of the series, when Sol enters. The way he punches "PLEASE" is what makes it great.

I congratulate myself for having kept you around.
Spoiler:
Al to the boxed Indian head...or me to my girlfriend, when she does something nice.

The wonder, to me, is that you're in here bragging about it.
Spoiler:
Conn's reaction to McCall's bad beat story, if betting all your chips with no pair is a bad beat.

It is age that impedes my stream, certainly not ****ing fear of you.

(OK, that 11th one I've never SAID...but sadly, I think it, every time I'm in a public restroom. )

Spoiler:
Al, to Seth, right before they fight.

Today I've already used two Deadwood additions to my vocabulary, Al's "forego" and Alma's "unspeakably rude".

Finished all but the finale. In case anyone forgot, these reviews/comments are awesome. You thought you were upset when the show ended? See Jim Beaver, Earl Brown, Keone Young, et al talk about it.

Earl Brown was in Black Mass (the Johnny Depp as Whitey Bulger movie) and I didn't even recognize him. He's an old man now, or at least middle aged. I imagine the women have aged even worse.

I cannot imagine this movie getting done.

And what exactly happened at said lunch? Did Milch give Dickens an outline of what would be in store for Joanie in the movie? He did more than that. He actually read her specific scenes. “We sat at lunch and he read a few scenes to me between Stubbs, Tolliver, and Jane,” reveals Dickens. “He read all the parts. It was amazing, it was funny, it was sad. It was all that it was.”

Although it seems to be held together by fans’ wishful thinking and the cast’s tweets, a Deadwood movie is ostensibly in some form of pre-preproduction at HBO. Last year, HBO’s president of programming Michael Lombardo said series creator David Milch had the network’s “commitment” to make a movie that would take us back to that unruly South Dakota town. But if you take Ian McShane’s remarkably profanity-free word for it, the project is a bit further along. In 2016, the erstwhile Al Swearengen said he knew Milch was working on a script for the film, and that everyone in the cast was up for reprising their roles. Now McShane says the finished script has made its way to the premium-cable network.

Speaking with TV Line, McShane said a “two-hour movie script has been delivered to HBO.” So, between the teleplay and the cast’s interest, it’s now up to HBO to follow through: “If they don’t deliver [a finished product], blame them,” McShane joked. The actor, who’s heading up the battle between American Gods on Starz later this month, also indicated he’d be meeting with Milch to discuss the script. HBO has yet to respond to McShane’s latest bout of optimism.

Well, the character wasn't in good shape at the end of Deadwood.

Outside of Swearengen's imminent doom, Tolliver's was the plight I was most interested to see in the movie. I didn't imagine anyone else's life taking any huge turns.

I think they can go on without him. It sucks, no doubt, but there are plenty of awesome ways a man of Milchs ilk could handle it.
