They traded Jake for Jake between the Time Bandit and the Northwestern. The bros Harris are fighting.

Thanks

So, it must have been pretty bad for Jake H. I assume they make less on the Time Bandit.

FYP

The Harris bros needed to be split up, as they were fighting incessantly. The other Jake (Anderson) was clearly ruffling some feathers trying to jump rank and suggest he should be doing more.

Really glad this thread was made. This is honestly probably my favorite show to watch. I can watch it hours upon hours.

The trade seemed extremely camera driven and strictly for the show imo.

Getting Jake Anderson is an absolute steal. He's obviously the nicest kid out there, helps his family with the money he makes, and what exactly was his major transgression? Asking if he can learn more? Give me a ****ing break.

Sig and Edgar honestly did not know how good they have it with Jake Anderson. How many other greenhorns have we seen come and go on this show? Here, take the whiny little douchebag brat instead. That's real smart.

This is less of a trade and more like COMPLETE THEFT for the remaining Harris boys. They have to be laughing their asses off getting rid of Jake Harris and getting Jake Anderson in return.

Most one sided deal in the history of crab fishing.

the plan was bad, but you don't go there. Keith probably has nightmares about the whole incident and is probably full of guilt and self doubt about it. His poor decision almost cost several people their life and I guarantee he thinks about it often. To go there was as cheap a shot as you can go.

Man, the trade was done to benefit both boats long term imo. Both Jake's get to go work on another boat and game some new experiences away from their family. Both will grow in experience and will grow as adults away from their "nest" so to speak. I think both Phil and Sig realize this and thats why they agreed to it.

Jake Andersons dad went missing a few months back its a pretty strange story they found his truck abandoned in the middle of nowhere. im curious if the show will end up talking about that and how jake will react when he gets news of it.

I agree it was a line that shouldn't have been crossed. But Jonathon Hillstrand's not really a guy with any typical social grace.

It could be the edit, but Keith goes from your best friend to evil competitor in the same sentence.

Keith is a prick though. A lot of the **** he does is to get camera time. Diving under the boat in a wetsuit, firing Moi on camera, telling the greenhorn he's insane if he thinks he's picking him up and flying him in, following Phil around and pretending he's not cutting in on his action, ect.

That storm that Keith almost killed his brother was one of the biggest storms in the Bering Sea that year. All of the other boats cut down on the pots drastically because of the freezing spray and wave heights except for Keith.

Just think about how that scene was shot. The guy shooting that huge wave coming was in the boathouse w/ Keith. None of the cameramen were out there in harms way, but it's OK for the rest of the crew to be? His crew is constantly getting itself into dangerous situations. There was one storm where he was forcing his crew to go out there for 1 minute at a time and dump pots into the water basically inbetween wave cycles. They were calling it the winter hurricane but Keith's still fishin'.

I don't think he does things for camera time, but his decisions make for good tv so he's on way more often. I thought he dove under the boat because it was either fix the problem there or go back to port and have someone fix it? Also he has to fish constantly, his boat has one of the largest quota's out of the fleet, plus you get paid more for delivering early.

+1 to Keith being an ass. And I'm sure every single person who heard him discussing the tarp before even pulling it out knew it was not going to work. Hey! Let's make a big kite! Great idea!

Was Jake Anderson the guy whose sister died in the middle of the last season? He seems like a really cool person and the part with his sister was really really sad.

Yes.

Also, I loved how Anderson was all thrilled once he got on the new boat. Saying stuff about how the guys there didn't give him a hard time whenever he opened his mouth.

wasn't he a well off guy? or is that a misconception?
I figured a guy with money would take better care of himself.

Pretty awesome show, would be even better if they didnt have the spoilers at start and removed the "whats happened so far" clips after every commercial.

Has anyone read North By Northwestern? Sig from the Northwestern co-wrote it. It's actually pretty good. I had no idea he had a brother on the boat other than Edgar. Apparently the guy hates cameras and refuses to allow anyone to tape him.

I always thought it was odd they had a small crew, but I guess they really don't. It's nuts how some of the guys on the boat have 2 or 3 houses. It really is sick money when you figure they start fishing when they are 14 or 15 and making $50,000 on summer break. Sig said he was making more money in 2 months than his school teachers were in 1 year, lol.

They showed him in the first season or two. Now sometimes you'll see him when they have a wide view of the deck.
