Finished this last night. Think it's leapfrogged over Arrow, Agents of Shield anbd Agent Carter (don't watch any other superhero shows). Better plotting and action that the Agents shows, infinitely better acting, dialogue and character development than Arrow.

Couldn't help but laugh derisively at the running scene in Ep 12. I don't care how hyper his other senses are, how the **** can a blind man leap over buildings, run across beams, jump over ledges, and unerringly climb ladders without crashing into anything? They're inanimate objects - it's not like they give off detectable sounds or smells. And what was with all the totally unnecessary flips and somersaults?

Great show overall though.

I think you kind of have to ignore that (or just accept that in the world they created, he is capable of that ****) otherwise you'll prob just be annoyed a lot. they are treading the line very dangerously though between "man it's cool he's this badass & blind" and "alright, why make him blind if he can do all of this"

I thought the general superpower "concept" is that he was trained to use sound waves to see. Stick also refers to being trained to heal oneself faster.

I haven't read the comics but there is a greater good vs evil plot line in the background. I'm assuming it's the same people in the Elektra movie.

I also felt that the flips and somersaults were very peculiar in a unnecessarily long scene. I'd imagine he can "see" if their is wind or vibrations throughout the buildings, but I think that's a bit of a stretch.

I'm surprised they only showed his perspective once throughout the entire season. It could resolve some potential questions. I'm hoping they have Elektra in the second season since they hinted at her in one of the episodes.

I think the fact that he does retain some vision and can see general outlines of everything is supposed to explain all that.

I've seen references to Elektra and Bullseye as major people in a Season 2. Would be pretty cool.

Not featuring Elektra or Bullseye in a 13-ep first season was probably a good decision as the show would have otherwise been too crowded. I doubt S2 can go on for long without introducing at least one of them however; they're too important to the Daredevil mythos.

Epic 13 hours

Can't wait for JJ, Luke Cage, Ironfist & Defenders first

Also pumped for Madame Gao storyline to spill over into Ironfist

This show was so so so good. I completely bought in from the episode two corridor fight scene.

Love that the show is set against the avengers. They are the big picture guys taking out alien invasions and daredevil is the small picture guy taking out rapists. Conceptually I finally get how they can insert these minor heroes into the same universe without a mess of overlap.

Kingpin was just the perfect villain from the start to finish. Id happily take a second season of him buying his way to freedom and pulling strings in the background again.

No issues with his powers, in this universe gods wield magic hammers and women can cause massive earthquakes and apparently a 16 year old is out there somewhere with spider powers so whatever some chemical gives him magic sight. I'm fine with that.

Carter is better. Otherwise, yes.

Don't think we'll see a season 2.

Apparently nobody understands the MCU.
It's a whole Universe. Let Marvel do their thing. Sure, DD S2 would be great, but let them tell other great stories. JJ is already almost done filming and Cage & Ironfist are following. Defenders will be amazing and then these actors are free to appear in the big films like civil war and infinity war

My understanding was that the component series would be continuing alongside defenders in some way.

We will definitely see season 2, but it won't happen til after Defenders as part of MCUNetflix Phase 2. Same thing as doing Captain America 2 or Thor 2.

Marvel is a business first, storyteller second. If DD is a commercial success, there will be an S2.

What is the schedule for defenders and the other three feeder series? If defenders is a year or more away, which I would guess it is, then DD2 is surely a lock?

IIRC we should be seeing Jessica Jones in the fall, Luke Cage and Iron Fist next year, and Defenders in 2017, which puts Daredevil S2 a couple years away.

Hopefully the feedback is good enough that they can possibly work on some of these series concurrently instead of one at a time, and we can get S2 earlier.

Actually reading stuff now that says Netflix plans to release the series roughly one year apart, so we would be 4 years out from Defenders at this point. Ouch.

Will I like this if I don't really like comic book stuff?

Yes. It's very non-comic-booky. If you can suspend belief a little bit and overcome the obvious "man it would be so easy for people to know who he is" then it's gonna be great viewing. The story and acting are great, and it's set in a dark world and is gritty and gruesome in ways rarely seen on TV.

It would be odd if they arent doing three seasons of daredevil during the time it takes to get defenders built up, then.

The show has to be very popular and they are pretty flush with cash to make investing in multiple marvel series at once a no brainer.

This show getting way too little love. Wow, best comic book anything since Nolan's Batman. Fisk character background is incredible.

+1

Didn't know anything about it until I saw an ad a few days before it was released. Watched all of it and loved every minute.

D'Onofrio was great.
