ok cool ty.

ya like I said I was not trying to pass myself off as some expert on the LA open mic scene.
I had a few experiences and then extrapolated from there and made a lot of assumptions based on my general impression of the entertainment industry in LA.

also I didn't try all that hard as I wasn't trying to do it seriously I just enjoyed going up from time to time and had a lot of fun the few times I did it.

Ya this show isn't filled with laughs like a lot of us expected but I get a general kind of expose of the comic world that most people don't get to see. I'm into comedian's podcasts and it seems to hit the nail on the head for their general experience as far as a TV show can do it and it's pretty entertaining. Was bummed it's only 8 eps or whatever it was as I barely watch the tele anymore and this kept me coming back.

What's funny is I was listening to some comedians's poscast that knew the dude, no clue who it was, but he was joking around about the show saying "is that how you really see yourself Pete, as some super nice guy" just basically ****ting on that version of Holmes and laughing at it.

The show is back with two new episodes, and somehow they are really good. I was super underwhelmed by season 1 and only gave the news eps a shot because I had nothing else to watch and couldn't fall asleep. Basically, the new eps are what I wanted s1 to be. They seem to be co-written by Apatow which probably played a part. Can someone else please watch them and let me know if the show's actually good now or am I going crazy?

i did see a lot of buzz around ep 1 being astoundingly good.

i gave up after 1x01, maybe 1x02. will try and get back into it.

First episode was damn good. Should've been in the first season and cut out all of the wife cheating stuff and especially the dude she cheated with. That stuff was never that much fun.

My thoughts exactly. They could/should have compressed everything that happened on s1 into one pilot episode and then actually started the show from here. Hitting all the right tones now, imo. Holmes still isn't particularly funny, but the writing is good.

Had they did anything other just have him show up in the beginning, the cheated-with-dude might've served some kind of purpose. But it was a throwaway scene.

I dunno, I kind of liked season 1 and thought the repeated cucking of the main guy was pretty hilarious.

Sorry, I did not like the first episode of season 2. Pete staying in the girl's apartment all day was just cringe-inducing. No one is that clueless.

It's kind of amusing seeing Pete be besties with the guy his wife cheated with.

I quit season 1 after two (?) episodes.

Should I rewatch season 1 before starting season 2 or can I just skip the first season?

Skip imo

I couldn't finish the episode because of this, and I only made it 5 minutes. If you're not CYE, I don't want to deal with your cringe comedy.

Hated S1 and stopped watching after a few eps. Agree that Ep1 of S2 was strong.

God damn that Bill Burr is a national treasure, episode 3 was the best of the series imo. Saved the series for me

Episode 2 was worse than Episode 1 was good.

Just hard to enjoy a show when the main character is so unlikable.

Liked the Bill Burr ep too, Bill Burr is amazing. I recently watched the Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee ep featuring him as well, it's a must-see imo

can we just make the show about Bill Burr?

And is Burr really married to a black woman?

Yeah, that was his actual wife, think she does some acting herself

huh....of all the white guys to be married to a black woman, a red-headed Bostonian is not who I'd normally pick...my stereotype game is obviously broken.

This is all the show needs to be. A dash here and there of Pete's story and the rest of the time he just hangs out with a different comedian each week.

Better yet get rid of Pete
