I see this series as a slow redemption story for Johnny but I could be wrong, the fact that he is investing time in the kid at all is why I'm leaning that way.

I felt like the poolhouse is perhaps hand built by Daniel which I thought was a cool throwback. I'm glad they didn't make Daniel into an uber wise reform of Miyagi, he's still got the inflections of the student from years ago, just older and bound to make mistakes.

Are all the eps available for stream right now? If so I may burn my free trial to watch this and vsauce's mind field.
Yes, all are available now.

I watched it from start to finish in one day. Better than hoped for and can't wait for season 2.

The scene with Daniel at the cemetery in episode 5 was A+. I know I am the target demographic for this show, but I can't believe how well they have pulled this off. I feel like I have been smiling ear to ear since episode 3 started.

Also binged watched it. I thought the first five or so episodes were amazing and I really enjoyed the character development and plot lines through it. Really enjoyed how those episodes reminded us of the original through flashbacks but then also provided us a deeper look into the current state of our characters lives. It wasn't just about karate but about these characters dealing with their current world.

Near the final episodes or so it started to get a bit corny and probably revolved a bit to much around the karate.

Overall the show was definitely worth it and thought it was put together really well.

Binged it in a day. It's objectively not a great show but it's very entertaining, would recommend.

For those people who don't want to sign up for youtube red, you can get a free trial for a month. It's only 10 eps so you can easily finish within the trial period.

Binged all 10 episodes last night while doing laundry. Can't help but root for Jonny this time around. Really enjoyed it.

Fun fact... in the original Karate Kid, Miyagi was actually teaching Crane Kung Fu, but Crane Kung Fu Kid makes for a ****ty movie title.

Ralph maccio wasn't too bad i expected to be horrible like in every thing I saw him in.
Writers did such a good job making it so much better than the original movie.
And Zabka was really good. His character had so much more depth than maccio one tho.
Unexpected great first season.
