I think the one thing he did wrong was letting his teammates know about it when they were discussing at the table how much money everyone can pull off. That kinda deter many others and making them wanna hold back from utilizing their resources. He could of raised much more funds for his task had he kept it secret or lied. The huge amount of funds he can raise for his task as a PM can play a significant role and do him a huge favour in the long run. and at the same time, he could of drained much of other teammates' resources boosting his chances.

and his aggressive leadership style wasn't particularly motivating so that kind of made himself some enemy I guess, ehh, I don't know. Tough one for him.

I'll keep watching until Carolla and Jillette are gone...may tune out after that.

I also hate when they make it look like the men had no chance of winning (no big donors) and then surprise..they blow the women out of the water. It's like I have been bluffed by a crappy player...hate it when I fall for that.

I'm not sure they would have been much different. Look at the women, everyone held back there too.

I don't think he cares much for the long run, though.

I guess that's true, idk, Dee offered 15k, maybe someone could have offered more? I just thought if someone made a commitment it's more likely they'll follow through 'cause if they don't and their team loses, their putting themselves on the block for blame in the BR and he kinda put a halt to the discussion by mentioning the half a mil, but yea your right he doesn't seem like he cares.

Gotti looks like a corpse. Trump being introduced by the orchestra was hilarious. Aubrey's twitter comment was a good laugh. She's a former contestant from the show 'making the band'.

wow I just realized that sunday night's premiere was the lowest-rated premiere for Celebrity Apprentice ever. I guess they really need to bring in some real celebrities. I think it'd be hilarious if they bring in someone like Judge Judy or Paris Hilton, that'll be interesting.

It is logical for people to hate on the fundraising tasks but those are what prop the show up. When you get to the end of the season, I'd guess 80-90% of the total funds raised for charity are from the fundraising tasks.

They also usually do it about 3-4 times a season, IIRC. The rest of the tasks are the typical skill-based tasks where the winner gets $50k or something. Seems like a reasonable ratio to me.

Trump must realize the fundraising tasks are a sham but he loves the big $$ and I am also willing to look the other way on these weeks.

Aiken was surprisingly aggressive and funny, not really familiar with them until this. But yeah, there is something super weird about his face, like he's wearing a pound of makeup. He looks like a doll.

Tiegs acted like she was whacked out on pills. I guess you could chalk that up to age but there have been older contestants that acted more spryly. She just sat there and stared off into space and then meekly quit.

And that random O'Day chick isn't just ridiculously full of herself, she's also really weird looking herself. Goofy ass huge hair and just odd looking in general.

Trump: "Lou how did the gun show go?"

Ferrigno: "Huh?"

Carolla: "Your arms, Lou..."

You basically answered your own question. They need 30 minutes of boardroom footage so they HAVE to talk bs like "who is your weakest link?", "why did you lose?" bla bla

You could just sit back, not even open the store and have your rich friend drop by through the back entrance with a big check and be done with the task. It's also kind of weird how everyone holds back on their big donors for when they are PM. If you are only reality-tv-famous with no real rich friends, you are basically screwed as a PM.

But oh well .. this show is probably not targeted at the strategic minds of an average 2+2 poster. They just want people to tune in and say "oh look, it's <insert b star> ... and there is <rich friend of b star>"

Did a RL facepalm when the Aubrey said she should be the face of the team because she has the most Twitter followers. It's hilarious that these kinds of people exist.

^^

As lame as those boardroom questions may be, those are the put on the spot/push button questions that drive the BR all hell broke loose and consequently the trainwreck throughout the episodes. I think the show would be pretty dull without it as the boardroom and firing are what is The Apprentice's appeal.

Patricia didn't really hold back on her donors, she mentioned that she contributed almost 90% of the donations for her team, it's her teammates that held back. but i agree that if you don't have rich friends then you'll be screwed as the PM of a fundraising task.

She repeatedly said she raised 90-95% of her team's donations yet we saw that Miss Universe raise 20K of the 126 (IIRC) total, so at MOST she raised 106/126 = 84% and I'm sure it wasn't that high as others probably brought in money and generated sales themselves. LOL @ 90-95% repeated claim. Especially when she told Tiegs that her claim was too high as there wasn't room for it after accounting for her proceeds. Would have been funny if Miss Uni piped up and say "you did not raise 95% of our funds, there simply isn't room for it."

Trump's comment about her boyfriend not having any chance because he's not rich was really distasteful imo. Even if it's true there's no reason he should say something like that. Like, there's nothing to gain from stating the obvious there, and a lot to lose. She should have said "you're rich and you don't have a chance so it's of no consequence to you."

Yeah the twitter comment was hilarious. My wife was like "I've never heard of her." "Me neither". LOL @ attributing twitter (online) followers to having a famous face viewed by random New Yorkers.

That Real Housewife lady is one of the most horrific looking beasts I've ever seen. She doesn't have a fivehead, she's got a threehead and looks like a tranny on top of it. People in Jersey don't actually think that looks good, do they?

Only way Penn loses this is if his large personality irks Trump and they get in a spat and he gets whacked. But he's clearly the alpha male of that group and should cruise really far.

I'm definitely in no doubt that her figures were incorrect and that she is a big liar, but I do believe that she didn't hold back on her big donors as a PM in response to black666's comment.

and I also LoLed @ these:

"So Debbie what do you think?"
"I took on a lot because I feel we should use my musical abilities..."
"Debbie Who Cares, who should be fired?"

Aubrey O'who "I know I'm probably going to take a bullet for going against her.."
Trump "You may take a bullet."

Takei is awesome and you could almost see him drool when Lou had his shirt off. I hope his husband didn't get mad

I think he will get steamrolled pretty early on though, as I think a lot of his team members will be throwing him under the bus for being too old, slow, etc.

Cheryl Tiegs looked rough...but I think that's because she was trying to pull off make-up, etc as though she were in her 30s and not her 60s.....but then again, I should look so good in my 60s.

As someone who used to watch the show and then came back to check out the season premier, how could they possibly think that the current structure is a good idea?

The whole challenge or whatnot is a complete waste, as all that matters is if you can find a rich "friend" to donate enough to win.

How is that better then having them actually compete to see who could do a better job and raise more money from the actual task?

I'm all for trashy reality tv, but I was blown away at how bad this current concept is.
