LOL this show is beyond rigged. Women had a legitimate 1% chance of winning. When the women "won" I instathought that Trump was just waiting for an opportunity to fire Lou, but nahhhh. Cannot believe they kept that piece of garbage on the show. A monkey could do a better job than this clown.

I could have sworn I've seen someone else fall on the sword before, and only they got fired.

As for Lou, he must have pictures of Trump in bed with a goat.

Trump wanted to fire Andretti for not endorsing the Buick vehemently enough to please those execs, and thus needed to fire Adam AND Andretti since Adam volunteered himself.

You're probably right. I would imagine though it's hard for a race car driver to get excited about a Buick. He probably felt like saying "This car is weak and handles like ****."

Clay is surprisingly forceful. Impressed the hell out of when he told Lou, "next week class is over."

There's no point discussing the rationale behind Trump's firing decisions b/c there basically is none. I'm pretty sure there's been at least 2 other occasions where PM's have said they aren't bringing anyone else back to the boardroom and only they have been fired. He saw an idea to build hype for this episode with the "double firing" promos all week and then decided to get rid of Andretti b/c he's worthless.

Lou is one of the most annoying people on the planet, huge LOL at his "They aren't utilizing my other talents" then he goes on to suggest he act like the Hulk every week.

Theresa's twohead (I'm not sure if that's a real phrase) is really getting to me, why the hell is her hairline so close to her eyebrows?

I've almost done a full 180 on Aubrey, yah she has an annoying way of carrying herself, but she actually steps up and usually has solid ideas plus she brought a lot of funny one-liners esp. the ones wrt Debbie, if not for the Verona slip-ups it would have been a perfect episode for her.

If not for Lou, the men's team would actually be very good. Clay and Arsenio have proven to be very strong players, Penn's obviously really good, Paul knows his strengths and weaknesses very well and doesn't try to do too much, and Dee is strong as well.

I think if they had done a polling of the audience to decide whose presentation was better that the men would have won by a comfortable margin. The women seemed to have just as much slapstick humor as the men and I guess Adam fumbling his lines at the start could be canceled out by Aubrey's Verona/Verana mixup. The one thing that was confusing to me is why Adam added the "You suck!" bit with Paul. Seems like a low reward/high risk move, but it was probably just thrown in to give the 2 weakest players something to do and get them out of his hair.

I'm surprised there's been no love for Don Jr's "that was last week, right?" retort to Adam's "I lost my virginity in a Regal".

Did enjoy Carolla being adament that they didn't actually "lose". That's why I wanted to see the execs actually say they liked the womens presentation way better.

Mispronouncing verano and bombing the first q and a question seem like pretty big mistakes.

I guess looking back, the optimal play would have been to go to the boardroom and bring back Penn and Clay. That would have tilted Trump like crazy.

Just one time after a firing I'd like to hear this exchange.

Trump: What did you two think of this firing?
Trump kid: I think you screwed up and fired the wrong person.

Producers probably handcrafted this Buick challenge knowing an Andretti was going to be on the show.

Also lol at Trump saying everyone unanimously agreed Andretti was the weak link. Didn't everyone go with Lou right before that?

Alright, this being a poker forum I am going to try to use my "making a read on my opponent" skill at dissolving what transpired at the Apprentice this episode.

First of all Almonds, I agree in saying that the shows (and Trumps) main goal in this episode was to give their sponsors, Buick, a promise to deliver Andretti on tape saying how much and why he endorses this new car. If he was project manager he would have been shown 40 minutes talking about how Verona meets what he would call an excellent car.

This would be like pure gold to Buick and they are paying tons to be on prime time national (and global) television, basically for a much less fee then getting Andretti to do it himself. So obviously the show raises money in other ways than advertisements.

Now on to the contestants, they are all celebrities that are losing their name and trying to build their brand image back up. Them being on this show for charity is really kind of like a big job interview. For the people who happen to stay on the longest, they get the most exposure on television which brings them more opportunities. So think of these people as the employees. Judging by the show right now, my opinions have raised about Arseno and Penn on the Men's side and Aubrey on the Ladies side.

The Trumps, all three of these guys are the bosses. Well Donald is the boss (Dad), Ivanka is daddys girl who is a better public speaker than her brother. I think Don is the most level headed from the three, his main goal is to make money. I think thats why he was surprised when Trump Sr. said he was going to fire two people. The best decision in this case would probably keep Corrola. He has a demographic that watches The Apprentice and thats like free viewership to NBC. Next weeks show is going to be weak, but I think Trump is also afraid of Lou. Or are the candidates so good that they'll make Trump force people to blame other people by throwing Lou on there.

Here are some other random thoughts on the show, I think it was okay to fire Andretti by Trump. If my boss came with his client to me and singled me out in my team to be Project Manager, I sure as hell would do it.

He fired Corola because he disobeyed him, if he brought Andretti and Lou in, I think Andretti was getting the sole Ax.

Anyways, maybe this show actually is an Apprentice behind the scenes.

If that was a way to force Andretti to endorse their ******ed car that's pretty scummy. Could they even use it?

I'm pretty sure you sign a wavier saying whatever footage on tasks is usable for anything.

I remember I was looking around for real estate in New York and the lady told me all Trump buildings go for higher because they have a name with the international community. Whats funny is I live internationally now and you would be surprised what people derive about their impression of America from stuff like this.

Its not personal, it's business... <money money money.... MONEY>

The thing is he DID endorse their car. I mean there's enough there to use anyway and then it's like, "Well, that's all we needed from you. So long."

I don't care that they got rid of him. He was boring but yeah.

I miss the days when they had George and Carolyn who actually occasionally did disagree with the decision. The cuts at the end where Ivanka says something like "It was the right decision" and Don Jr. echoes "You had to do it" are almost comical at this point.

Andretti's 'endorsement' was pretty lukewarm afaict

If he went out and gave a passionate speech about how the Buick was the best luxury sedan he had ever driven and he would love to buy one for his daughter/son, the execs wouldn't have picked the mens team to lose.

Definitely think this 'challenge' was a scummy attempt by Trump/Buick to get an endorsement from Andretti without actually paying for it.

Lol .. it's like that every other week.
Trump jr. goes like "it's a difficult decision you have to make" just before the firing .. and afterwards he compliments his father by saying "you made the right decision" or "it was a no brainer"

Michael was really weak anyway, or at least they never showed him actually doing anything. But lol @ keeping Lou Ferrigno over Adam.

Everything Penn does or touches turns to gold as usual.
Carolla left him no choice. I thought Trump gave a little bit in asking Adam who he was going to bring to the BR with him even though he had already refused to answer the 'who are you bringing back' questions earlier in the interview. The whole tone of the session seemed to be the Trumps trying to help Adam make the right decision on who to bring back culminating with Trump asking him again as if Adam hadn't already cut his own throat by saying he wasn't going to bring anyone. {sigh} Adam did it to himself. He disregarded his team's reservations and took 95% of the task on himself, leaving himself (and his team) in a very rough spot if he failed.

I respect him as a man in that he stood by his presentation and was unwilling to throw other teammates under the bus, however I can not respect him as a competitor. I also thought he put together a nice presentation. However, he should have attempted to put more on Andretti's plate. I agree with everything he said about Andretti not being a good spokesperson, however, Carolla should have made more of an attempt to get him out there. Both because it was foreseeable that the Buick people would want that, AND so he had an 'out' in case the women beat him. Adam showed incredible hubris throughout the entire episode (much of it deserved), but he ultimately paid for it in the end.

Andretti has been the biggest deadbeat of the entire show. If he wasn't going to step up here, he never was going to do it. People respect him too much to throw him under the bus (this whole men's team is a little too honorable for this competition). So it was going to be difficult to get him out. Adam left Trump no choice on firing him. And this was the logical spot to dump Andretti. I don't have any problem with what went down on Trump's side.
