I like the Training Day reference.

Acting was top notch. Story telling a bit convoluted for American TV probably.

Terrible news about The Bridge. The show is way better than the Americans but didn't have any ratings. Well acted and very good storylines even if the show got messy at times.

Agreed, it was still great TV even if the second season couldn't keep up with the quality of the first, which I'm not sure I agree to btw - I didn't enjoy the second season any less than the first.

This is actually pretty damning of the writers, since season 1 was a carbon copy of the original (and some critics didn't like copying the serial killer plot line).

I liked the show, but it was clear in season 2 they couldn't decide what they wanted the show to be, which was too bad since the acting was first rate.

I want to watch this show. Which version should I watch? Google didn't really help me find out which one is best.

Only a few people on here (if that) have seen the original version. This thread is about the U.S. version, and most of the people posting in the thread love the show. Both are probably worth watching, but I haven't gotten around to the original one yet.

I loved season one and pretty much hated season 2. Maybe it would have been better to watch the episodes in a row, but I was watching weekly and just couldnt follow/didnt care enough to try. once I lost it a little bit I gave up and just forgot about it. Too bad too, because I really liked s1. I also found it strange how critics felt the opposite, that s2 was way better than s1 but the ratings disagreed.

I liked season 2 a lot, but they got rid of almost everything that made season 1 a good watch. It had a very unique storytelling style, especially with the expansion and introduction of characters.

It felt like they were trying to turn it into something more like Breaking Bad in season 2. It was an extremely complicated story and fairly hard to follow, so I'm guessing most casual TV fans would find it nearly unwatchable. It also really lost a lot of its timeliness by abandoning a lot of the themes I felt made it work so well in the first season. It was an interesting season of TV but it was a lot different than season 1 as you said.
