why is the "if you could kill me" line of walt in the desert in "crawl space" voiced over with mike's voice?
super awkward
08-04-2013 , 09:45 PM
Lol... Just watched that.
08-04-2013 , 09:56 PM

this was addressed iirc and it was just a coincidence that they sounded like eachother, it was just walt.
08-05-2013 , 05:07 AM
Less than a week!
08-05-2013 , 07:14 AM
I guess the big question is do I DVR them, and watch a few at a time, or do I watch them once a week?
08-05-2013 , 08:08 AM
Once a week then marathon through the season after the last one is released

there was no time for walt to call gus for his input/assistance. the argument that he should have waited is essentially an argument that walt should have let jesse get killed.

considering that, gus's response was out of proportion to what walt actually did: save jesse's life via killing two scumbag child murders, with no option to get help from others because of the timeframe.
You're assuming saving Jesse required killing the thugs. The right move would have been to stop Jesse (like, driving up to him and saying "get in the ****ing car"), then confront Gus. Walt's ego demanded he undermine Gus and kill the two dealers himself.

Dom,

Agreed. Good post.

oh come on
the 2 dealers were just about to pull the trigger and walt managed to interfere in the last second

yeah this is stretching it...

Walt realizes while he is eating dinner what is about to occur, races out of his house, see's the scene about to unfold and thinks, hey what a great time to undermine gus by killing these guys?

Walt did what he did out of self preservation and his affection for Jesse, considering season 4 is all about him undermining Gus your point is still valid i just don't think this is the scene where it becomes obvious Walt's ego is now the one running the show

Yeah, I guess you guys are right.

I mean can you blame Walt for undermining Gus in season 4? Gus was planning on murdering him at the end of season 3, and Walt narrowly avoided that by having Jesse kill Gale.

no but the way he treated jesse while he went about undermining gus was appalling...

Not sure where it fits in the overall, but the cold open to "Crazy Handful Of Nothin'" (S1E6) is masterful. It's the first one that truly blew me away and had me on the edge of my seat the entire episode.

How soon before all of you started thinking this was/could be one of the all-time greats? A buddy was convinced by the 4th or 5th episode, and I kept qualifying it, but by the end of season 3 I was on board. Specifically, when Walter said "Run".

Turtle head explosion made me realize this will most likely be an all-timer. All the cold-opens leading up to the S2 finale slowly etched it in stone. The finale for S2, at least at the time, made me almost 2nd guess myself. "RUN!!" was when I knew it belonged on the list. Last few eps of S4 put on the top of the list and I knew it would never not be there.

First ep I thought, "This is a really cool show." By the end of the 2nd, when the torso falls through the ceiling, I was like, "WHOA!! This is some **** I've never seen. There were some crazy moments throughout, but once that Turtle Head exploded, I realized the balls this show had and I knew this was going to be something special.

Upon re-watches though, damn near every semi-major moment solidifies it. It's just been different types of awesome icing on top of the awesome cake over and over again.

I realized I would love this show in season 1, when Walt decides he's gonna let Krazy-8 go, then realizes there's a missing piece to the broken plate and proceeds to choke the **** out of him. So great.

Yeah, this was the moment I was hooked. The cold open to Crazy Handful Of Nothin' was the moment I started thinking it could be truly special TV.

This is my favorite marathon I've ever done for this show. I know whats coming, so it's nothing but love and appreciation watching.

Speaking of which, "Grilled" has another cold open worthy of contendership.

  • Jesse will be Walt's main antagonist in Season 5.2. They've set him up to be completely on the outs now. He's smarter than anyone gives him credit for - he was the one who thought of the magnet and the how to rob the train.
  • In order to complete Walt's descent into pure evil, he will have to kill Hank. It's going to happen. Jesse will be the one to kill Walt in the end. The whole series has been set up for this.

If 5.2 is half as good as 5.1, Breaking Bad will go down as the greatest TV Drama of all time. Period.
Hank must die because he is now appearring in Under the Dome?

LOL what? The show is ending, any of the cast members can appear in anything seeing as they were done with production months ago.

Gilligan says 90% chance of a prequel.
