Breaking Bad: season 5 Breaking Bad: season 5

06-11-2012 , 11:58 AM
Okay, kids. It's still 5 weeks away, but now that promos are coming out and anticipation is ramping up, let's start the discussion.

Season 4 and its mind-blowing awesomeness are behind us. Gus is a crispy corpse, Walt & Jesse are on good terms (but Jesse doesn't know yet about Walt's malicious poisoning of Brock nor his negligence in letting Jane choke to death on her own vomit), and as far as Skyler knows, Walt won.

16 episodes left in the greatest show in the history of TV. Will they ratchet up the intensity even more, as they have done every season since the beginning? Will Hank pursue his white whale -- Heisenberg?

We're not done yet. We're done when Heisenberg says we're done.

I approve of this thread in its current state

Lets hold off on the faux debates on whether or not Ted is dead though so we can keep this thread awesome?

I seriously got goosebumps at that 5-second teaser. Cannot wait for this to come back, especially now with GoT and Mad Men over

Predictions for first half of the season:

-Walt cooking under carwash, Jesse will work with him
-Gus his empire will not just have disappeared with his death
-Cartel massacre will be a (probably minor) plot point
-Mid season finale will have 2 giant cliffhangers:
*Walt and Jesse relationship will fall apart forver in a giant fight, setting up for Walt vs Jesse.
*Hank will have a solid connection putting either Walt or Jesse as Gus his former cooks.

So excited, teaser got me hyped up again.

Congrats. I wanted to be the one to make this thread.

I'm psyched for this more then almost anything ever. I don't care what they do or where they go, I'm f*cking ready.

Subscribed. I've already watched that 10 seconds teaser trailer four times. This next months wait is gonna be so brutal now that Game of Thrones is over.

Great show. Cant wait. Im really disappointed that they said this is the final season. Simply because something of course is going to happen, so it would of been so epic just to end the season without saying anything. Like for instance if Walt dies in the final episode, it could easily happen just because we know its the final episode of the series. If we didnt know we'd be completely shocked.

Walt surviving would be more surprising to me.

Subscribed. I predict first scene of season is some higher up at madrigal with his back to camera getting word on phone that gus has died and giving orders to go after walt

Put me on the Ted is still alive side. How else would they con him out of his business.

Part of me is worried that S5 can't live up to the perfection that is S3 and S4...but I guess I said the same thing after S3. Even if it's not as good as the last two seasons, though, it's still going to be amazing. #CANTWAIT

Nah. GOAT show gonna GOAT finale that sh*t.

I've been more intrigued by the major conflicts that are left to deal with then I have been with the one that have been dealt with, for the most part. Mostly because we knew how those would end. Tuco had to go, Gus had to go, the cousins had to go.

For the major conflicts that are left, I've considered a ton of scenarios for each and I like all of them. The only way it's not going to be GOATOTGOAT is if they deliberately botched it

Can't wait. I started the series a month ago and have been overwhelmed with how great this show this. It's going to be nice to follow the thread on a regular basis, I enjoyed reading through the S4 thread except for a few crazy discussions.

I like to imagine that promo as the negotiations between Gilligan and the AMC president. Never been more excited about a new season of a show

Aaron Paul has said that this is going to be the most violent season yet.

epic trailer for obviously most epic show of all time.

There is no chance Walt gets to live at the end of the series right?

Spoiler for The Shield not BB;

Spoiler:
unless they can think of a perfect end like Vic's where he lives, sort of.

Spoiler:
Walt gets busted early in season 5 and is sentenced to 623 years in federal prison. Skailark goes on the run to Mexico, and Hank constantly interrogates Walt, who is controlling the cartel he set up between seasons from behind prison walls. Hank is never really able to get a handle on the situation and goes completely mad, while Marie becomes Walt's pawn (through simple threats of violence, Walt is a simple man at heart) and ends up murdering Hank in the penultimate episode.

In the end, Gomez can't handle the death of his former partner, and he tortures Walt for information, but Walt is hardened and strong by then, and he simply spits in his torturer's face as he is waterboarded. Gomez eventually does capture Ckylark, but with no help whatsoever from Walt. As he escorts her to her new life, a deep dark prison cell, she asks why, Walt, why did you break bad. why did you have to turn everything to ****.
Fade out to "The Real Folk Blues"
