You're probably right. I was referencing Wire stylings

and above all that you don't even seem to consider the fact that walt can just call his bluff easy peasy. WTF is gus going to do when he offs jesse and he threatens walts family and walt says: '**** it i ain't going to cook'. what does gus do then? close his billion dollar meth operation down? HE DOESNT HAVE ANOTHER COOK!!!
1)The writers adding that line doesn't just make it all better. That's all they did... add a line of dialog. It's not like Gus is some guy who wouldn't kill your family if it benefited him. That fits his character perfectly. The writers just added some dialog to justify 20 seasons of not killing jesse. It's still weak.

2) lol at walt calling a bluff with his familys life on the life. If walt stops cooking then gus has absolutely zero use for him and him and his family are collateral and will get merked.

Even if all your points were right... it doesn't change the fact this show has been about the same darn thing the entire time. Even if they can justify it ( which I think they haven't ) it's still the same ol repeated formula.

Tarantino loves Lynch ≠ Pulp Fiction is most definitely inspired by Lynch
Tarantino also loves Boogie Nights,Dogville,Shaun of the Dead,The Host,Anything Else, Fight Club etc.(he loves so many things)
If he loves something does this mean he's inspired by it? I don't think so.

Breaking Bad is a very good show btw.

jesse has been working at the super lab for 10 episodes, which is less than a season and what, a few weeks in actual time?

Your general point is taken, though.
The specifics need some thought, perhaps he leaves it with Saul? Or maybe he can't trust Saul. Perhaps he hides it well enough in his stuff that a snooping Skyler doesn't find it, but a "Walt has been missing for a month" Skyler does?

Anyway, it's pointless since its not like he will die any time soon.

I actually kinda like that as a trick to create dramatic tension. By doing things slightly out of order, they're basically keeping us buzzing and thinking about those unresolved questions. By keeping us out of step with the characters and their plans, we're always wondering, and it makes things a lot more interesting as they develop.
But I really want to know how the airplanes know how to find the island to make the drops, and what is up with the vaccines for the sickness.

That wasn't even the context for the line of dialogue mentioned. Do you even watch this show?

Where the **** is Gus going to get his meth from in that case? I don't think you realize the power vacuum an interruption in his production would cause.

If by the "same thing" you mean "how Walt's descent into the criminal world has taken him darker and darker places and slowly sucked everyone around him into this black hole," then I agree, but I think that's what the show's supposed to be about. I mean, what the hell kind of criticism is "the show is about the same thing"? Almost every show is!

I don't get why you watch the show, since it seems you only do so in order to find things you can interpret as reasons why the show is weak.

Heh- this is why those Lost ****s deserve a million **** punches. In retrospect that show is just amazingly manipulative and disrespectful to the audience. Like there's a degree of social contract there, and they totally let the fans down on their end.

Re: Breaking Bad: season 4

I read the plot summaries of lost the other night and the show sounded absolutely awful. Like they just made up retarded sci-fi crap as they went along and just strung the viewer along on "ooh mysteries."

Re: Breaking Bad: season 4

Yeah- the first three seasons were mostly great. It's just that all the fantastic setup they did didn't get delivered upon at all for the most part. The end result is that I wouldn't really suggest anybody watch it unless they can cope with the frustration.

Shows where everything gets neatly resolved are usually boring.
