i'm a fan, but i only end up liking about 60% of the episodes, kinda like south park. so i never know what i'm going to get when i tune in - whether it will be great like 'topsy', or god awful like 'beefsquatch'

I'm certainly going to need this after Breaking Bad.

I was quite underwhelmed as well (of what I saw). Unsure if it had to do with the impending episode of Breaking Bad, but I don't think so.

Excellent episode. I was thinking during the beginning that Schaal was killing it. By the end, it was that the entire cast was killing it. So damn good.

This. Obv Schaal was a beast, but Bob, Tina, Gene and Linda all had some great lines. Hell, even Mort got a big laugh at one point, though Ive forgotten why (I think it was "this may be a bad time to mention but I was making a tail too")

Solid episode. I wasn't feeling the season premiere at all but this was great.

I enjoyed it. I do like Linda, though.

Yeah I was really pumped for the return but this was pretty much a total miss for me. Probably the first episode I didn't like since s1. But I did really like the exchange after fishodor explains who the pilot is and Teddy tries to explain what is going on to Gene in kid terms and says "He is seducing your mommy" then Louise says "I hope he is a good listener because that bird likes to chirp." Schaal's line reading there is just perfect.

But yeah I think it was a mistake stranding linda with a new character and expecting it to be good enough to drive the whole plot. It seems like they have trouble creating organic stories for Linda and when they give her an A story they end up separating her from the family which is usually bad news (I am thinking of the episode where she goes to work at trader joes.) She is a good character but her brand of odd manic energy is way better reacting to others instead of propelling the A story. Also the pilot was so one note he would have been better as a throwaway character. But w/e I am just glad the show is back.

Also I find myself singing "They'll be saying Aww Topsy at my Autopsy" 2-3 times a week and I haven't seen that episode in months.

I thought the guy "finding" the lute was pretty great followed by Linda's "What's a lute?".
