S1 and S2 threads here.

There is an official recap video here to get you ready, plus I will probably go read the AVClub recaps from the last few episodes of S2:

As with all Netflix threads, be aware that by reading further than this (after episodes go live on Friday), you run the risk of seeing spoiler. If you do participate in the thread, it is much appreciated if you state in your post how far you've seen, and then put everything in spoiler tags, even if it's just general opinions of how good/bad you thought it was.

For some reason this is the only show I even come close to binge watching, and I'm really looking forward to blasting a few episodes this weekend. I will check back in when I'm done with the series. Enjoy!

This is a really good series that is a little unheralded. Have loved it so far, hope they don't **** it up. Endings are hard.

Kevin is AIDS and distracts from an otherwise very good show.

Excited to see what this season brings, assuming they all end up in jail or dead.

I'm liking this, just finished ep3 now. This show has always been really good at catching a certain vibe, that Keys sense of place combined with a crime noir dread type of thing.

Finished season 3. Uhg. I thought season one rocked the casbah but hated where they had to go with season 2/3 to keep it going. This series should have been a one season and done in my mind.

Spoiler:
Very uneven. Thought the season started out very slow and very ugly with all of the outside in the dark and inside dark gloomy rooms. Once they went to the trial I thought it picked up a lot.

Episode 9 was just pure WTF????????????? I think they tried to get too fancy. I'm sure many will gush over it but I thought it sucked.

The ending sucked balls with no real resolution. Kevin got his. The Inn is doomed. But John and the kid? I didn't understand what was gonna be so special about the conversation we didn't get to see/hear. Gave it a resounding thumbs down.

I had to finish it though. I thought I would be disappointed. I was right!

RE: Episodes 9 & 10

Spoiler:
The last 2 episodes ruined the ENTIRE series for me.
1st as someone said about episode 9... WTF????? Then out of nowhere the mother turns on just the sons b/c the property is valueless??? and last but certainly not least, the producers/writers can all go sodomize themselves w/ a splintered 2 by 4 for not actually showing us the conversation between John and Nolan. I could live with that if that was just the season finale rather than the series, but the entire last episode led up to that moment and we don't even get to see it?

****ty way to end a series.

I agree about episode 9, it seemed that it lasted about 3 hours. I was praying for it to end and those last 2 episodes pretty much ruined it.

John Leguizamo?

Spoiler:
What was his deal? He was creepy as **** and every scene he was in was intriguing but WTF? I kept waiting to find out just what exactly he was gonna do and then he just offs himself. He seemed like a cool/creepy character they wanted to include but served no real purpose. What did I miss there?

I'm only 3 episodes in so not reading the posts above yet. But so far I think

Spoiler:
It has actually exceeded my expectations. I'm pretty intrigued to find out what happens. I thought EP1 was too slow but 2-3 flowed nicely and time flew by. It's not a fantastic show but overall one of the better ones, imo. Idk what's going to happen with so many episodes left still, but the current setup for potential future drama seems good. I don't even know who I'm rooting for but will be fun to see how it plays out. Def a decent chance of the last few eps being horrilolbad with ******ed plot twists tho.

I also predict one extremely boring flashback episode with lots of Danny just for the sake of having Danny in the show again.

Did not find him intriguing in the slightest.

It was like they were paying JL, but he wasnt involved in their final story, so they just gave him do a bunch of idiotic scenes that had nothing to do with anything.

And they ****ed it up. First half of season 3 wasn't too bad, not amazing but not bad. Last half it seemed obvious they had no idea how to finish the show. Last two episodes were just painful to watch.

finished the season:

Spoiler:
for me, S1 was a 9/10, S2 was probably a 7.5/10, and S3 was a 5.5/10 or so. i give this show a lot of leeway because i love kyle chandler and i love the setting, but at times in this season i found myself questioning if what i was watching was anything more than mediocre. more often than not, the answer was no.

everything ozzy was just awful. lots of stuff fizzled out and led to nothing. i don't know how much of this stuff was due to them having to condense from 5 seasons to 3 seasons, but they had the time and notice to do a better job (check out this article that says ozzy and the chick were supposed to be major players in this season: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...ason-3-1008391). some of the stuff i see cited as some of the best of the season, like the court case, just make me think about BCS and how much better that show is at executing stuff.

ep 9 isn't good because 1) it literally adds nothing whatsoever, and 2) it comes at a time when they should be starting to wrap things up. if it came earlier in the season and was a bit shorter with a point to it, i think it could have been a lot more effective.

ep 10 had a lot of dumb stuff, and i don't care about the 'DID HE OR DIDN'T HE TELL DANNY'S SON THE TRUTH STUFF OMG', but on the whole it's preferable to some midnight hijinks on the high seas with the mexicans (which is what i was expecting). i am pretty surprised that john didn't end up in jail though.

i've been reading quite a bit on the bloodline subreddit. people there are absolutely furious about the last two, and a lot of people thought S3 was great up until that point. i don't really get that.

other thing I don't get

Spoiler:
why was Sally's testimony so good for the Rayburn's? I thought once she said she was with meg that night they'd all be ****ed because of Chelsea's testimony from drinking with her at a bar. but that's supposed to be discredited because she was fired from her job? that's ridiculous because meg being at the bar could be easily verified. just get the bartender or her receipts or a camera or anything. then when you show sally was lying about being with meg, a lot would unravel because chelseas testimony would be huge once he fact she was drinking with meg was corroborated

Anyone wanna give me cliff notes on eps 9-10 (basically just how it ends for each character)? I've seen 1-8 and everyone says 9-10 are so terribad that I don't think I want to even bother to watch and tilt myself.

There were some good moments in eps 1-8 but the writing was already super lousy and everything seemed super pointless. If not for Kyle Chandler and the gorgeous setting I woud have stopped after ep 1.

Lol, this so much. Everything concerning the court case was just lolterribad writing.

Ok, here you go:

Spoiler:
All of episode 9 is a dream/flashback/flashforward mess in John's oxygen deprived head while he is recovering from a suicide attempt. We can't tell what is real and what isn't and it does absolutely nothing to advance the show or resolve anything which is pretty lol for the second to last episode of a show. Episode 10 still has some of this twin peaks garbage going on but does actually resolve some stuff. If you have watched the whole season you might as well watch 10 just to wrap it up. 9 can easily be skipped and you'll be better for it.
