Looking forward to this. I hope it doesn't suck.

Quote:
For decades, ex-government agent Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) has been one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives. Brokering shadowy deals for criminals across the globe, Red was known by many as "The Concierge of Crime."

Now, he's mysteriously surrendered to the FBI with an explosive offer: he will help catch a long-thought-dead terrorist, Ranko Zamani, under the condition that he speaks only to Elizabeth "Liz" Keen, an FBI profiler fresh out of Quantico. For Liz, it's going to be one hell of a first day on the job.

What follows is a twisting series of events as the race to stop a terrorist begins. What are Red's true intentions? Why has he chosen Liz, a woman with whom he seemingly has no connection? Does Liz have secrets of her own?

Zamani, we come to find out, is only the first of many on a list that Red has compiled over the years: a "blacklist" of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists. He will help catch them all... with the caveat that Liz continues to work as his partner. Red will teach Liz to think like a criminal and "see the bigger picture"... whether she wants to or not.

From writer/executive producer Jon Bokenkamp ("Taking Lives") and executive producers John Eisendrath ("Alias," "My Own Worst Enemy") and John Davis ("Gulliver's Travels," "Predator") comes a global thriller that will become more mysterious with each name on the list. One-hour drama.

Dialog sound in that trailer was disastrous. I hope it's a better experience once they clean it up for the actual episode.

It seems like it would be very difficult to maintain the kind of momentum they're trying to build there. It's definitely on my list of shows to watch, so we'll see how it is.

I saw this as an advertisement on a different youtube video and it was interesting enough to not skip, so I'll give it an episode. I don't have much faith in network dramas these days though.

Looks like Arrow meets Silence of the Lambs, minus all the interesting parts of each.

Love James Spader tho.

Did this trailer just spoil the whole first episode?

Sure seemed like it, though the ultimate "case" probably isn't what's fun, it's how you get there, right?

I thought that was the first season? If this show brings in a new villain every week for a string of self contained hour long episodes I'm not going to make it very far.

That's basically what it is, but I'm guessing the carrot is why he's doing it, and why with her. As it goes further along, the cases will be shorter and the story will be larger. It's the typical way that most shows are now going away from serialization. They do it in the MOTW style to bring viewers in who don't want to deal with a serialized story, and then they begin to serialize it as it gains core viewers (similar to boiling something slowly to where you don't notice it happening as much). Think of a show like Grimm doing something like that. A full serialization is a very hard sell on network TV, so you have to be much more clever about doing a show like this than just doing full on serialization or only MOTW. The problem is that the show looks a little try hard (almost ABC style) already.

Sounds like POI. No way this show is as good tho.

It was only a matter of time before we would get a POI clone. I would take half a dozen decent POI clones any day.

Looks awesome but have a bad feeling that this will be a 1 badguy per episode show

POI is a one bad guy or gal per show, and it's still great, because of the additional story elements. As donni said, this appears to be the first POI clone (didn't even make the connection at first, but it absolutely seems to be on the surface). It just doesn't look great from the trailer to me. I'm interested but not excited about it. Spader looks like he'll do a lot better with this than he did with Robert California, so I guess that's something.

A friend just insisted this was starting Season 2...had to look it up to confirm that it's actually Season 1. Trailers have been running forever! Looks like Season 1 starts net Monday 9/23.

He just found out she's his daughter. Also the reason for his turn from heel to babyface.

I thought it was really bad. It was like watching an entire season of 24 (one of the bad ones) in fast forward.
Will tune in next week.
