I seem to remember something in the next to last episode with Capt. Vane encountering Blackbeard's crew. Maybe Blackbeard himself wasn't there?

I think they were probably aware of this which is why we skipped 2-3 episodes of Rackham / Vane / Flint threatening / negotiating only to reach a tentative accord.

Pretty happy with the open, one minor gripe is that if my first instinct was that the ship is bait i'm pretty sure Flint would have worked out in about 5 seconds based on the wind speeds and tides exactly where they were likely to be ambushed from if it was a trap way before they even got near it.

I understand it's set up for them having to charge into the storm but it's doesn't feel like great writing for him to be so easily trapped by Hornigold.

Really surprised this show doesn't get more love. Second episode of this season was visually impressive, glad to see they committed the funds to put that storm scene together.

Yup. The sailing scenes have really high quality production values and there seems to be more of them this year. I mean they compare well to even something as high budget as Master and Commander. Really impressive imo.

Good episode. Can't believe that Blackbeard is Titus Pullo from Rome. I thought recognized Ray Stevenson's voice but it didn't look anything like him. IMDB confirmed my ear.

Can someone explain that conversation at the end between the servant and the British dude about a spy or something? I'm not sure I understand what all this was about.

Does it have anything to do with the documents that were found in the Spanish ship? Do we know?

I'm guessing the servant's contact was on the spanish fleet that got killed, but will have to wait and see. I'm not sure if England and Spain had some type of agreement to return the gold back to Spain? It sounds like they did from that conversation but was the first I heard of something along those lines and was not real clear.

The previews for next week look interesting.

The new governor persuaded the Spanish to let him occupy Nassau on condition they get their gold back. He's also on the clock to fulfil this deal or the Spanish will arrive in force looking for it.

The servant was recruited by someone in Spanish intelligence to keep tabs on his operation and feed the information back to them. Some of this information was likely recovered by Teech and Vane as it was on route back to Spain.

Spain knows that some of their gold has been turned into pearls and expects all of it back immediately (the new gov needs to make this happen). Max has offered up her half in exchange for the legitimisation of her position. Eleanor will know Rackham has the other half.

Really enjoying this season, as the others. It's always entertaining to watch.

Just caught up on the last two episodes. Show doesn't get nearly enough love.
I thought Idelle was going to bust a bodice in one scene.

Found it pretty hilarious when the guy in the bar spoke up against Silver. What a moron. Was so obvious what was going to happen.

That was a good scene. Dufresne has known Silver as more of the boat politician than a pirate so he is in no way expecting that kind of reaction. That might have been a turning point for Silver's character into becoming the badass that men feared in Treasure Island.

Are you guys talking about the girl on the boat or the one in town? The one in town has been shown multiple times already and unless I missed something from last episode the girl on the boat did not show anything.

That being said, I continue to enjoy this show, surprised it is not more popular. It will be interesting to see where it goes from here.

Just when i was thinking all these inevitable escapes are getting a bit old, that happens.

Looking forward to seeing a wrathful Blackbeard join the party.
