Oh definitely. I'm sure lawyers go crazy watching Suits, doctors go crazy watching ER, and so on.

Very glad that the vocalist chick story seemed to end, I would have hated for that to be a multi episode arc.

Also glad with how quickly they wrapped up the story of the mole.
I guess it says a bit about the show so far if you look at all the ******ed stuff buried inside the "best episode so far" (I do agree on this btw). Stuff like a guy who gets wiped out by a $200k loss being allowed to sell short in the first place, US attorney´s dad risking US attorney´s entire career over NOTHING (script says he bought in at $55 and lost $480k at $43 so all he ever owned was something like 40k stocks worth $2.2m. I´m guessing that´s nothing to a family that has to worry about holding inheritances inside a blind trust - again, taken from the script), Bobby "Axe" Axelrod starting an entire SEC investigation on a hunch (Axelrod´s buddies joke about going to Augusta, which prompts Axelrod to "know" who´s ****ing with him and makes him tell his fixer about it, who in turn calls the SEC anonymously), cringeworthy "How the **** do you do it, James ****ing Hetfield?" stuff etc etc.

That said, I did enjoy watching the episode lol.

the basic problem is that the writing in this show is awful. there's so much talent in the cast and potential with the concept, and its just being pissed away.

on a side note, one of the co-creators, andrew ross sorkin, is probably my least favorite financial journalist. he's a toolbox and a high finance stool pigeon...he wrote the lengthy financial crisis apologia, "Too Big to Fail." He's sort of the anti-Michael Lewis.

did you not like Too Big to Fail? I thought it was pretty good.

its an insider's guide that glorifies the insiders (who were wrong), whereas something like big short is an outsider's guide that glorifies the outsiders (who were right)

too big to fail, while it does give access/insight to the dealings that saved the economy from a potential collapse, skips the annoying part of the narrative where all of these morons in the book either caused the whole thing, or watched it happen in slow motion. the wrong people are lionized for the wrong reasons.

i might have to quit this show

it's an entertaining enough hour of tv but the dialogue is just so goddamn bad i don't think i can handle it. guy from americans is such a horrid actor as his friend. i think giamatti's dad sucks too. metallica chick dialogue was just cringeworthy

It put him on the good anti-hero side for a bit unlike Tony Soprano who always cheated on Carmella.

Yet he abandoned his childhood friend who he had to bail out. That character has to be coming back he is too big an actor for a short part.

Ep 1 was great, ep 2 was good.

Nothing noteworthy happened in ep 3 and 4 imo. Not a good sign if they already bring out boring episodes in the first half of S1.

Yeah definitely not as good as the previous episode. I was pretty bored during a lot of it but thought it ended on a good note.

It's an undeniably cheesy show, but I'm in for the duration. At least for season 1.

I want to see the black lady naked btw.

Him being unable to resist going to an s&m club during the peak of his biggest case ever is horribad. I'm still watching, but I could see this break for the worse pretty quick at this point.
