Actually I disagree with my last post. Derrick was talking to Cody today and said that he thinks Caleb knew Frankie had a good chance to win alone and when he heard about the football trip and being able to eat (hes been on slop for almost 3 weeks)that's when he decided to let Frankie have a go at it instead of straight throwing it.

I don't know how many of you guys know about this interview with Jessica from Big Brother 8, the one that Evel Dick won.

http://www.rffradio.com/archives/223

This is a really famous interview from Realitytv Podcast where Jessica dropped a bombshell on the show and told the show that there was this time where Evel Dick or Dani (the Donatos) were going to be backdoored because Eric (America's Player) had the veto and was going to use it. Production stepped in and told Eric that he COULD NOT use the veto because they knew Evel Dick was going home. If Eric refused, his next America's Player question would be "Should Eric be evicted from the big brother house and have America vote" (however, no one would actually know what the actual result of the vote would be, just the producers. So they could basically do anything.)

This podcast is a MUST LISTEN, it's the only interview that I know of that had a former houseguest on the show openly talked about production's riggage. There hasn't been another one since. I haven't listened to the show in a few years but thankfully they have archived it. The hosts were gobsmacked when they heard what went down.

I remember listening to this podcast at the time and the hosts were talking about this for weeks and even brought up years after. Jessica gave a lot of info on the game, worth a listen to the entire show but you can skip to 59:50 for the incident.

I thought a houseguest sued because of that stupid question "True or False? There are 2 relatives currently in the house?" And the girl answered False, and the guy answered True. Production said the hamsters were brothers. Pretty sure she won.

Zach does his rendition of shake it like a protein shaker while giving shout outs to feeders and they pull away, production sucks

That's her name, and turns out I can't find anything about a lawsuit filed. I remember researching this before, and shows like Big Brother are not bound by the government to act like a game show.

Essentially, the producers can change the rules at any time for any reason, and there can't be any litigation. The show is considered for entertainment purposes only, and the cash prize is simply a part of the entertainment process, and is not bound by the quiz show rules.

Really? So they can essentially award the money to whoever they want?

Essentially yes, by changing the rules to favor one player (see Rachel s13 and Adam s9)

The exact us code rule brought into question is code 47 section 509. In particular, subsections a2 and a3. The producers will say that intellectual knowledge or skill is not a requirement to win their games and therefore cannot be rigged against someone. They also say there is no way to completely prearrange or pre determine the outcome due to the jury portion of the game, which is essentially out of their hand.

I believe I've read other pieces which say that reality shows do not fall under 47 509 at all, but I'm having trouble finding g any official sources on that right now.

I have heard this before, probably during one of the other times I have felt production got heavily involved. Does Survivor fall into the same category? I only ask because I feel like RHAP had a Survivor writer on recently and the writer was mentioning Standards and Practices being present on the show monitoring everything. I was confused as I thought this would fall into the same "entertainment" category as Big Brother.

I'm not sure how involved s&p is with that side of things. The best way to find out is to read the credits closely. I know I've either seen or posted a screen shot which shows that it states that portions of the competition can be changed by the producers at any time.

Agreed. I think I'd put this in the top quartile of BBUS seasons, but I think we have the risk of a boring end game. Nevertheless, leagues ahead of the abortion that was BB15.

Name a season without a boring end game? I think this end game is actually shaping up to be very competitive.

Maybe BB14? But I get your point and don't disagree. For this season, I just fear we are working down to a Cody / Derrick / Caleb / Victoria F4 which will be tough to spice up and hurts things for the overall quality of the season. Still a great season though.

I think there are a number of different ways that f4 could end up. Or do you feel it would just be a race to see who takes Victoria to F2?

So I don't think I really buy the rigging theory in this instance, with the main reason being that I don't think production has any real incentive to help Frankie last in the house.

I think the reason they cast people like Frankie is a defensive strategy in case the rest of the cast sucks. If they can't get stories elsewhere, they know they have a reliable entertainer in Frankie. But as this season has played out, Frankie hasn't really been a significant factor, and I don't think losing him hurts the viewership of the show.

A few pieces of evidence in support of this -- Joker's has him near the bottom of popularity ratings, and they are as good of a barometer on cat ladies as anyone. Also, in the initial Team America voting (when no one knew the cast), Frankie only placed 3rd or 4th despite his alleged fame outside the house. How is this possible unless his fame is only Ariana superfans who don't watch BB?

If people were arguing they were rigging things for Donnie, I'd find that more plausible. However, by saving Frankie, they are directly putting Donnie at risk. Why would they do this?

I thought the season with the Brigade telling Brittany was pretty entertaining toward the end. Ian taking Dan to F2 over the girl was pretty good too.

I really want to know what Christine's plan is going forward. As of now she's putting up Nicole and having her backdoored.

I fail to understand her logic. She HAS to know that she's at the bottom of the totem pole with the guys alliance. When Zach put her on the block with Nicole a few weeks back and told her he couldn't put up Derrick/Cody, it should've clued her in. She's playing it safe trying to survive week to week. There were actually enough numbers for her to actually do something and turn the house around. She could've easily formed her own alliance by staying true to Nicole/Hayden from the early beginning and carved out her own game instead of leaving it at the hands of the guys.

Yeah she's also just straight up burning jury votes along the way. She pulled a Cody and told Nicole she wasn't putting her up last night and then put her up today.

Truth is she never had a good idea of how to play big brother. She's admitted on feeds that she isn't really a superfan, but read Dan's book and tried to fill the superfan niche in casting. Derrick and Nicole constantly correct her on how big brother works. For example, she thought that the second HoH in the double eviction was always played the next morning.
