Better Call Saul - Season 3 Better Call Saul - Season 3

But the guy always left with the bag. Mike had been watching long enough to know the routine and told Jimmy he leaves with the bag (right?). Everything seems to have happened the same as it always did. Mike was actually frustrated by Jimmy's story because of that.

Also, I find it hard to believe that the bag handler would be delivering anything to Los Pollos Hermanos. And he certainly wouldn't be handing anything (especially money or drugs) to Gus.

This bag trip to Los Pollos Hemanos feels like it's not part of Gus' routine operation.

Maybe he's letting Gus know if it's all there or who's short by what he orders.

Gus certainly needs that information.

But, he's not going to get it directly from a bagman (though very trusted since he picked up from the dead drop spots). And Gus is definitely not going to interact with a bagman in his restaurant in front of his employees.

So its a coincidence he is at LPH?

The Gus we know from BB may not be the same Gus from BCS

I'm not saying he's interacting with the bagman, I think it's possible the bagman is giving him the info in code by ordering different things off the menu.

So the bagman carries in the bag why? Is he afraid he might be called something else?

Should be about the same Gus, he's been doing business with the cartel for at least 10 years by now.

Maybe he doesn't want to leave it out of his sight. Anyway, I think we can agree that his asking for extra hot sauce was significant.

Kinda getting sick of Jimmy getting so obviously played by Chuck.

Gus calls Mike at the end of this episode, he will ask Mike to work for him. Mike will request Jimmy's assistance every now and eventually Saul Goodman is born

--Is the receptionist they hired, the same one from BB? The one that beat Walt out of $10k, I think, when he broke a window? This one slipped into the Cracker Barrel character so easily, she's got some "con" in her.

--Enjoyed that she thought Jimmy's side was "a little bit crooked".

--Really, really disappointed in Jimmy's "fieldcraft", as they say in the spy novels. Expected better than that. Even *i* know that when you're tailing someone, you don't drill holes in them with your eyes.

--The photography kicked ass. Again! Camera in the trash bin; the spectacular vista for Mike's final scene; the shot of Ernesto's and Jimmy's ridiculous cars in the W/M lot; that bridge with the huge floodgates!

I think Gus got spooked by Saul and decided not to interact with bagman. Otherwise I assume he would have left without the bag and Gus taking it into his office.

It's the same person.

first 2 haven't exactly been action packed. The highlight for me so far is the spunky new receptionist.

I wonder what exactly is the Hermanos Classic.

edit: I guess it's the Pollos Classic.

Season has been fine but I'm not enjoying it as much so far as the last two seasons. The shtick is starting to feel a little stale. Flame away.

Am I the only one curious to know what's inside the bag? Like Pulp Fiction and the briefcase...

Just assumed it's cash from collecting all the dead drops.

Under normal conditions Gus probably just escorts the bagman into his back office and puts the cash in his safe and then returns the bag to the bagman. He just doesn't do it when a guy in a suit is staring directly at the bag.

The bridge with the floodgates overlooking the city at night was beautiful. What a piece of camera work

What was cool about this is that he had a really tight lines of color separation in the areas where Jimmy was pealing the tape with his thumbs, but in the area where he he ripped it off, there was a gash where the sky bled into the mountain outline. It was on for just a split second. Not that peeling the tape causes this in reality, but it was an excellent effect.

I also liked the lightening bolt that struck in the background last week when Mike was coming out of the wilderness.

Yep, it was a great shot. It shows that Jimmys methods always cause at least a little bit of damage.

It looked completely fake at first, like a miniature set built for the shot. Then I saw the movement of bagman and decided it couldn't be fake.

How can Jimmy be such a chump for Chuck? Yeah, I know it's family, but jeez.
