Nah, I can think of several better, two of which are Netflix originals, but it's v. good.

With all this talk of a connected DC universe, I'd like to think that Gambol from The Dark Knight survived the Joker's mutilation of his face, got reconstructive surgery, and moved to Starling City to become Black Wolverine.

But anyway, really solid episode. I think a lot of people probably forgot China White existed, so it was good they brought her back briefly. Ending was interesting - I feel like it's about a coinflip whether they either a) actually do a storyline where Laurel unmasks Ollie but then decides not to out him to the public for his own safety, or b) just have Ollie somehow get out of there super quickly with a ridiculous trick arrow.

I also enjoyed Deathstroke being all "women are a distraction", and Roy straight up lying to Thea right after agreeing to work with Oliver. Really looking forward to his eventual transformation into Arsenal.

I think it might be my favorite network tv show that I look forward to the most.

I don't know that he quite lied, just withheld a bit. He really is gonna quit going out attacking criminals (which is what Thea wanted), but he'll still be doin a little (much safer) intelligence gathering for Ollie.

Yeah I rethought what I said when I thought about it again. I guess he didn't specifically lie, but it's certainly going to generate some tension between the two when the inevitable happens and Ollie needs Roy's help on a physical level.

On the same note, I wonder how they'll play the dynamic with Thea finding out about the Hood being Ollie, and Roy joining up with him officially, and Roy also finding out. If Roy becomes Arsenal and then subsequently learns that the Hood is Ollie, but has to keep it secret from Thea, that would be some great material. Conversely, if Thea learns that the vigilante is Ollie, she's surely going to try to get him to stop doing what he's doing, which is going to set off weirdness bells for Roy if the vigilante suddenly disappears. The more I think about it, the more I like the way they're playing this angle.

Good episode.

Some interesting things happening and I'm not a comic book reader so don't know a ton of back story so looking forward to what comes next.

Island -- They have been captured for what, the 19th time now?
Ra's Al Ghul -- Should be pronounced "Raysh" not 'Raz'...just sounds better imo.

I'm finding myself constantly checking how much time is left in each episode when I know its almost over because I don't want the show to end. Really enjoying the 2nd season.

**** I wonder how they are going to have Ra's Al Ghul in the show, and if it's going to be a new version entirely or allude to the Nolan version somewhat.

We are probably going to link back to season one here, too. It was always an unanswered question what Merlin did when his wife died and he went away for a while - training as part of the League of Shadows/Assassins and having the idea to wipe out the Glades would make a lot of sense.

****ing RA'S AL GHUL! Amazing. Was totally not expecting that. Loved the episode, some cool stuff to come with Black Canary.

I suppose my concerns about the show losing some of its grit with his decision to stop killing have been answered.

Good show, good writing, the parallels between Oliver's decisions on the island and how they affect his decisions now really work.

Arrow is easily the best show currently airing. S2 just keeps getting better and better. Not sure why it doesn't get more love, I guess people just hate comics.

It airs on the CW I'm guessing most people don't even attempt it which sucks. At least the numbers are good enough.

It's amazing how simple it can be to write a good TV show with the right setting and characters. They take the island stuff, progress it and show how it shaped Oliver's development. Then they take the Starling City stuff and move that forward as well. Everything makes sense, it fits together, they never have more than 2-3 main plotlines in an episode but every character gets an arc, they get realistic motivations that make sense, and they all get their moments to shine. The show is a lesson in good TV writing.

I forgot to mention, my favourite moment of this episode.
