Kenneth's voice was annoying to me too but I thought it was a great ep, maybe the best of the season.

Yeah- that was something of a casting misstep. I mean Walton Goggins is right there on the same network, and I can't imagine he's not fantastic as a voice actor. Kenneth is one of the reasons I apparently don't watch 30 Rock anymore and having him on other shows is bad times.

Rest was obviously awesome.

I loved that line. I thought the opening with Lana/Archer/Gillette was excellent and the plot gave me such high expectations, but outside of cleverly subverting some cliches, the open marriage, the reasonable sheriff, etc i wasn't in hysterics throughout, which i guess goes to show how damn good Archer is.

I agree about Kenneth bringing down episode a bit, but sososo many A+ lines I can easily overlook it. And he only annoyed me in about half the things he said.

Don't get the Kenneth hate, but I don't know the voice actor and it seems that may be part of it. Thought it was a great episode. +1 to whoever mentioned Carol's look of glee with the hot iron, that was incredible.

I don't recall Archer, prior to this season, consistently bringing in such top flight voice talent, but this season has generally had at least one notable voice actor every episode.

Good sign that FX is upping the budget.

And I think it *was* a bad performance. One of the reasons Kenneth sucks is that McBrayer isn't a very talented actor, so even if there is something to be mined from the lines they write for Kenneth, the actor isn't doing it.

On Archer, he gave another terrible performance, just sort of reading lines with that up-and-down-pitch vague-Southern accent but not really getting what was funny about the dialogue. I think his incompetence proves just how good H. Jon Benjamin is as a voice actor (Jessica Walter and Judy Greer are terrific too).

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was intentional, down to the fact that the episode was titled "Bloody Ferlan" and even that "Ray GILL-ette" sounds a lot like "Ray(lan) Givens".

Tracey goes into hiding from the Black Crusaders(?) and stays with Kenneth's cousin somewhere in the country.

Agreed, that Mcbrayer's voice didn't fit well with the character, and the Justified similarities were definitely on purpose, imo.

I didn't even realize it was Kenneth till my wife pointed it out in the middle of the episode

May also explain why I didn't realize until this episode the voice of Ray is also the creator of Archer
