The girl that made it stuck the hold without using her arms, so it has to be possible (she used her arms later, but on the initial jump, only her legs were touching the wall).

She's also 7 inches taller

Only 4" taller according to the article below.

Also producers explain how it should be possible even for her.

Agree that it sucks for her, but I hope they don't change it for this reason.

Don't the tiny Japanese guys do the jumping spider pretty routinely?

That still shot really shows where she made her mistake. She threw her legs out too early. If she locks in a few inches deeper she is past the curved wall. Sure she would have been pretty far down, but she should have had the strength to climb up. That is how the Japanese guys do it.

Also anyone find it interesting that Brian Arnold tried to go first (ended up with second) for stage 2. Is it the same as last year or did they change it up?

They don't reveal the measurements. I suspect in the American version the walls are further apart.

I have no doubt it is possible for her but a few more inches would help a ton. Still totally in love with her now though.

In the link I posted they say that it's four feet apart (at the narrowest part).

Here's the image from Melkerson's link.

Kacy's arms are too short. Only Bruce Lee would be able to hold himself up with just fingertips.

you can clearly see her foot is in the smaller gap zone. Its definitely impossible for her.

Left foot clearly is, right foot clearly isn't. I think if she got about a foot more distance on her jump she might have had a slight chance. Not impossible, but pretty darn close.

Kacy needs a bigger trampoline.

my eyes see the right one on the corner which seems angled but still at the shortest distance possible?

The paint appears symmetrical and the right foot is on line which seems to be on the further out section

I'd guess she's about 6" short on the jump from getting into the shorter zone

This, and she appears to have at least a few feet to drop and still be on the wall. If she holds out another half second she is in the narrowest portion of the wall. Whether she can stick it at that point is anyone's guess.

The editors/producers are so goddamn terrible. It was so freaking obvious 20 minutes in that no one was going through bc they advertised that the ANW vs. the Japanese NW competition was going to be NEXT WEEK, and therefore this was going to be the last episode.

FML

The show is too hard. What a joke to have an entire season of this show, where no one ever ends up winning anything. It's so goddamn rigged so that no one can win it. It's a numbers thing. I mean, only 18 out of 90 people made it through stage 1. Frankly I think they should have 3 min to get through level 2.

This show is so frustrating. it's like when they show a televised poker tourney, and it's heads up, you know when it's going to be over bc it's the end of the episode. But this was worse because it's been building for an entire season.

I'm new to the show and I understand you don't just wanna give 500k away but I also would think it be better for the show if 1 or more people made it to the final stage.

Have stages 2,3,4 all on same night seems really bad also.

um i highly doubt that is a spoiler whatsoever and i imagine it's the exact way they'd do it anyway. they want to drag this out. they already had a bizarre 'season highlights' before vegas even began. of course if you interpreted it a certain way then it would adversely affect your enjoyment, sure.

it's more of a spoiler that 2 dudes began stage 3 with 10 mins remaining in the show, so you can be almost certain no one is getting to the final stage. but what are you gonna do.

someone will beat the course sooner or later. Its going to be a rock climber like 1 of the wolfpack guys or someone else that has ELITE grip strength. It seemed quite obvious even to the weatherman that grip strength and dealing with that reverse rock climb is no joke and that he is going to need to train for that. Even brent steffenson looked completely lost when he got to that obstacle a couple years ago.

im not sure if the japan final is harder or equally hard as the american version, but there has been a number of people (im not sure the exact number of people) that have completed the course in the japan version. I would bet a lot of the american ninja vets believe that the american version is beatable too.

4 Japanese I believe, or 3 people with one finishing twice

In the Japanese original which this is based on, only 3 people have completed the whole thing in 30 seasons. So while you may think it's too hard, it's certainly true to the original.

I think that there are definitely some current competitors have the ability to finish the whole course in it's current state, but even the capable ones need a lot of rungood to be able to get through. Someone is going to do it though, and once they do, the ridiculous difficulty will make it so much more impressive.

While the weatherman doesn't have the most elite grip strength the reason he fell seemed to be all technique. There are ways to lock yourself in on the at super overhung wall so you can shake your hands out with very little actual weight being on your other arm. Also all these dudes boulder mostly so it is not like they have any true grip stamina. Personally I think Kacy would have had a chance on stage 3.

Since stage 3 has no time limit she might but I don't see anyway she finishes stage 2 in time.
