This is an advantage for this show, though, because much of the "world building" has already been taken care of in the movies. We just have to get to know the show specific characters. This is ultimately what will make or break it. And it's why, at the moment, I am slightly worried.
The probable occasional big ticket cameo will be nice, but isn't going to be that important for the long term success of the series (in a narrative sense, not wrt ratings and whatnot).
One thing that will be interesting is if they use the show to introduce some characters that might be difficult to squeeze into one of the major film plots, but will eventually be important to the universe. If it's truly seamlessly integrated into the greater world with all the implications of the respective tv and film arcs travelling in both directions it could end up being great. If it just ends up being it's own self contained spinoff with very little connection to, or interaction with, the overall universe (with the exception of Coulson and the chick from Avengers), it could get very boring very quickly.
