After much deliberation on the livestream the categories/nominees for the first ever HSPLO Awards have been chosen. We took information from HSDB, Russian PTR and other Regs to help choose the nominees. They are based off of 2p2 and Pokerstars

I made the form on Google so that people will only be able to vote once

The Results will be revealed on Jan 1st

GL to the nominees

How are these countries there but not Canada? Best country for number of good PLO players is a tie up between Canada and Denmark afaik, neither of which are there

cool idea.

voted and whatever but a couple of them i didn't really know/have an opinion but after you click on someone you have to vote for somebody (ie. can change your vote but not unvote), so a couple of my answers are basically random.

also super jealous about everyone who has access to this stupid russian ptr.

I thought it would be fun to have something to look back on in the future

I was a bit worried about that for a few of the categories as the players are probably going to be pretty unknown to most people. You do have the option to not vote for anyone for those who haven't voted yet if you don't know any of the guys.

Will help you fix the last issue

I took the total poker playing population of each country, extrapolated it to the % roughly that is seen in HSPLO, and then eyeballed it so if you have 3 solid regs no bad regs you get a much higher score then 6 good regs 2 bad regs.

so finland.

Yeah I don't think RPTR is close to 100% accurate unfortunately, iirc Jeans posted a 1mm graph this year on twitter and he isn't anywhere close to up that for the year according to RPTR

You inspired me to go back and run more sims on all my answers because I didn't take them serious enough the first time around. I came up with a breakdown for the SRP vs Urubu for biggest trainwreck award that left me more confused than ever

I went with SRP there. If it was close for you, you probably neglected "hope EV" which is basically the fact that in each set of mutually exclusive events were they both doomed and hopeless.

I took these factors and calculated in the hope EV and took it to a risk assesment lawyer, as well as a psychologist, and they said from the start the SRP situation was not going to work, and the urubu situation was fairly close behind, but the hope EV calculations with urubu (being that hes not hopeless, he is braziliand and never gives up), factor a very slight pendulum change that, coupled with the fact that it happened during summer and SRP happened more in october-ish, the gravitational pull has a somewhat intriguing effect on the brazil vs canada pendulum sway, which ultimately moves towards canada and SRP.

+1 SRP Biggest Trainweck.

for more indepth voting analysis let me know, i've been developing some software to run GTO voting sims that not many people know about, i personally haven't told anyone but I think junglemans on to me.
