Re: Two River Spots vs Gus Hansen from 8 game 100-200

Hand 1 just seems so strong from him but you kill a lot of JJ and 99 that would bet the flop, continuing to bet when the board pairs and also adds the flush is just so strong but it's hard to put him on a hand. I mean what does he put you on when you call the turn? I'm really lost on hand 1, that is such a sick spot. A higher flush draw is the only thing that beats you in my opinion cause I can see him leading the flop, betting the turn maybe expecting you to fold some type of str8/flush draws but then the river he thinks he is good cause he doesn't put you on a boat.

Hand 2 I'd call, no thought process :-)

Re: Two River Spots vs Gus Hansen from 8 game 100-200

I don't know. I couldn't play any of those hands with any confidence. I would probably fold on #1 and fold #2.

looks like hand #2 happened first at 6:00 and #1 at 10:00, between then Looks like Gus tripled up.

Hand #1 sure looks like AAxx with either NFD or bare ace play in clubs.
Hand #2 looks like a back door non-nut flush, no confidence in our 6high flush.

If I had to pick one or the other, #1 puts me just drawing so unlikely that I'm getting past the turn figuring I'm counterfeit on my two pair. #2 I don't even like my two pair and the Jh is a devastating card. Again, makes me feel very light on the turn.

All in all looks like hunting big nasty bears with a 9mm pistol. You better be a good shot and know where the vital organs are.

I was on a 5-10 table with him once and he did ship very light back then.

Anyone else confused by the turn psb in hand #1? Makes me think he has bare 4 somehow. Stacks seem so nice for a shove on the turn though...

shove 1 turn for sure, 2 is pretty close kinda depends on other hands youve played at table so it could go either way

I'm raising flop on hand 1 and as played turn is an easy ship. You have a lot of blokkers, and as a backup plan you have decent equity vs the range gus gets it in with. As played river is a fold imo.

Hand 2, i'm raising pre vs him. Awsome hand for your 3bet range. With 2 backdoor flushdraws, im raising the flop. If i decide to call im shipping the turn. As played river has to be a call i guess because of your pot odds and the flush comes runner runner.

Yes i agree that hand 1 might be a shove on the turn but i dont think that gus is folding qq+ ever eventhough i am essentially telling him he needs two outs when i shove.

But no one is saying whether on the river would they call his full pot size bet?

If you've been playing scared money and foldy, then call river on hand 2. Hand 1 I think you can easily be called by worse when you shove, and you have fine equity vs almost everything but fulls. I would probably fold river as played.

Something is wrong when people want to shove the turn but fold the river (hand 1).

Because he's probably got AAxx with Ac control if not the flush draw. If you move on the pot and he's not full, he's dumping. You have fold equity.

Surprised it took 7 posts before someone said raise flop in hand 1
You have top two with flush draw and a back door flush draw omg raise

Hand 1: What do we rep when we raise turn?
Hand 2: What about raise folding flop, unless villain plays straight forward, calling seems to be horrible?
