Too Nitty? Too Nitty?

10-17-2014 , 12:12 AM
Live. PLO hi. $5/$5 plus Rock Straddle $10.

Hero ($1800) Known for a nit in the game. Very tight. Hasn't played many hands this session.

Villains:
V1: (2-3k) Plays a lot of tourney's. Gives action. Was stuck 4k so was wide open at the moment. Is Tilting.

V2: (2-3k) High stakes Mexican Poker player. Smart. Feel player. Gives action. Loose Pre but makes good decisions post. Isn't tilting.

V3: (5k+) Successful Professional. Very Smart, knowing player. Plays the game very LAGgy. Isn't Tilting.

Straddle on Button with V3. Hero SB. So Hero first to Act. Has
A A 9s 3s

Hero Limps.
V1: Opens $40.

V2: Bets $60. It is unclear if he meant to raise, didn't see Matt's raise. Or was just splashing chips with his call. Hero thought Leo meant to raise. Dealer later sees he has $65 out there and gives him the extra back.

V3: Re-raises to $200.

Hero folds.

Reasoning against Raising: This is the worst of the AAxx hands. If I re-pot it, I am MOSTLY playing AA here (I will do this will great rundowns and great suited KK/QQ). I am making it $600 left and leaving $1200 behind. If V3 thinks he gets my $1200 anytime he out flops me, then he has odds to call with all of his range. If he has a good hand here, then he has 40% EQ (could be higher). And being out of position, he will get to play perfectly against me.

V1 is tilting and looking to gamble. I am sure will call a high 5 of the time unless he is worried about V3 re-opening it. So I think I will take the hand 3 handed most of the time.

Once V1 calls, then V2 will surely call about 50% of the time. As he wants to see flops and again my hand is face up. I feel there is also a chance that V2 could have AA himself here (sometimes) because of his preflop action.

I don't mind turning double suited aces or Aces that has some solid kickers face up, but these Aces are just trash hands. I am repping what I have and I have the worst of what I have.

Reasoning against Calling. I am calling only to hit an Ace. I am putting in 1/9th of my chips hopping to flop a set or a 1% hand (like flop 733). And I will be out of position for the hand. This will make is harder for me to get value when I do make it.

My question... I my reasoning for folding solid or is it just a justification to play Nitty?

Thanks.

OK so you are saying no. I thought the quality of the AAxx, stack ratio and being oop was a factor.

Thanks

wtf you have < 1 PSB if he calls your Repot. You could smooth call if you were like 3k+ deep, otherwise this is pretty easy shove

If I knew how to delete the post I would. Sorry to have wasted your time. Didn't realize that crappy AAxx was the most obvious +EV spot. I ran numbers against several different ranges combinations and found I was from +5% to -9% vs? field. More up than negative.

You are now the third person to say it was a raise spot. I though some of the other factors mattered.

come on guys, take it easy on the OP. nothing wrong with asking well formulated questions even if it's obvious to others.

that being said, +1 this
