PLO landscape in Southern California? PLO landscape in Southern California?

Hey guys. I'm going to be in Newport beach/la area for 8 days starting in mid to late February. I am wondering where the best PLO action normally is?

I read that the LAPC is running during this time at commerce. Is that pretty much my best bet? Are games at hg, bicycle, or any other poker room bigger/better?

I'm looking at anything ranging from 5-5 to 10-25.

Any info is appreciated.

I think commerce game is either 20-40 or 25-50 unless it's changed since I've been there. Bike used to have 5-5-10 but idk how often it goes.

I'm sure Commerce will have many more games and great action especially considering the LAPC going. HG has a 5-5 $300-$1k everyday that is really good if you catch it at the right time.

The 500-1500 game is actually 5-5 with a $10 rock.

Hey man, thanks for response. Can you buy in up to the big stack? It would suck if u got stacked and could only buy in for 1500 when everyone else had between 5 and 10k.

i'm sure it depends on the game and time of year. I would think now with LAPC going on would be the best time to check it out/most likely to be running. There's really only one way to answer that question as I'm sure it varies a lot and there's very little to compare it to. I doubt people who play the game every day will answer that either. When I played it I thought it was a good action but very small sample and a long time ago.

It's good action but plays smaller than what you might expect with 25-50 because you can buy in for as low as 2500. Quite a few pros and regs play, but some of the regs are bad. It's a must move to a must move format so that has some downsides.

what does must move to a must move format mean?

Not sure about the 25-50 but the 5-10-20 at HG last year had the same problem. Half the table had 600 dollar stacks.
