Plo 500 HU - 4bet pot...

Hi,

Villain 3bets like 20%. We play like 100hands. He is barreling decent amount flop and turn but has only cR like 7% on flop in srp. Havenīt noticed much out of line spots besides he is leading turn every time i chk back in srp. Villain is probably not stupid but seems not to be a reg either. I was playing reggish/tight/forward mostly...my image should be in line for sure.

This is my first 4bet. What you do on flop?

BB: $510 (102 bb)
Hero (SB): $752 (150.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K 3 3 K
Hero raises to $15, BB raises to $45, Hero raises to $135, BB calls $90

Flop: ($270) 9 Q Q (2 players)
BB checks, hero ??? (has eff. 375$ behind...)

Yup.

Much prefer betting smaller (like half pot) to get him to jam spades, JTxx. I think when you pot you give him the chance to fold some of the weaker part of his range that he might decide to go with thinking he has fold equity

Thing is he should have trips+ like 20%+ and we have around 15% against them.

About sizing: I donīt think betting smallish to induce a jam by a FD or JT+something really matter cause these hand are in the early 40ish % equity zone so it really doesnīt matter what he does with them (he is not making a mistake with folding or calling)....

I am not saying i hate betting - i am just not convinced yet...

Betting is the safe/default play as we fold out a fair amount of our opponent's equity and implied bluffing equity. When SPR is very low it's usually best to play hyper aggressively with any semblance of equity.

Re: Plo 500 HU - 4bet pot...

hmm there are def spots where you want to check decide this. Some guys pretty clearly front jam every draw and trap with their Q''s, so then all a shove would accomplish is folding out almost dead equity or getting it in really badly. Vs some average fish with no reads yet id shove, and vs some regs and aggro fish id check and possibly fold or call it off later on. but most of the time a shove is correct , what Jeff W said.

Thanks for your answers guys! Looks like jamming is best unless we have more reads on villain to choose another line as an exploit (chk back to induce vs maniac etc.)...
