This is not true at all. Games are going, some people actually break trough. But less rake at the bottom would obvs help tons but its also big answers in what chinaski says:

I'm just afraid, that a few of the sne guys don't try to make SNE next year. If this happens I think the reg games are reduced a lot. That would mean around 50% of my tables aren't going to run and I have to drop down. I think a few other people would have the same probs

One point I don't understand: everybody is saying stars is getting more rake. But how does this work the rake % and rake caps are the same as before?

Damn, had a somewhat long post about the new changes and hit the back button on my mouse, big time fail.

So far this year over 9169 hands (7891 at 1/2 rest 1/2euro or 2/4) I have generated 10394 VPPs, using the "new stars vpp/hand" stat in HEM which refers to the system before the changes in 2012, I should only have 9001 VPPs, so I have seen an increase of around 15% VPPs/hand.

I looked at my database filtered for 5 - 6 handed and for players I have 1K or more hands with, if I had to guesstimate I think the preflop stats where you will earn approximately what you did with the dealt system would be something around 31/21/8% 3b, if you are playing more active preflop you will get more, otherwise you will get less. Obviously this assumes you are playing close to "average" in terms of how much money you commit postflop.

most supernova+ play tighter than the average (thus getting less vpp now)
the loose guys are bronze-gold (getting more vpp now)

-> stars awards less fpp to the playerpool (but same vpp)
and thus star earns more money by giving less rb (which is like increasing rake)

Rake is the same, but the number of FPPs handed out is lower. Also the FPPs that are given out are more distributed to people who trade in FPPs at lower FPP to Dollar ratio.
