I sometimes play a live game where the button can choose one of 4 games every round for 1 hand. PLO, 5card PLO, PLHE or PL 5 card stud. I was wondering if any of these games have a significantly higher bb/100 OTB compared to each other.

Obviosly I should target games where most people are bad but when the whole table is unknown it would be nice to max profit by selecting the best game for the BTN. I'm pretty good in all of these games so it doesn't matter for me, but what do you guys think?

whats your best game? position is prob most important in 5c plo, so prob take that.

i feel like importance of position is on a curve with number of holecards. too few and starting hand selection assumes increased importance at the expense of positional advantage (5cs, non super deep nl/plhe), too many and, unless game is hu or very short handed, ppl are constrained in utilising position to maximum benefit by the frequency with which someone has a nut hand (5+ card plo). so, if ur game has more than three or four players, id pick regular plo.

stud variants give away the edge of the button, as the cards dictate the bring in.

my choice would be a NL lowball game, if i was any good at them.

edit: i believe breaking a bad player fast would propably 7-card stud H/L in a NL/PL version. but i wouldnt take that instead of a button.

what about 8-card OMAHA or some over crazy ****?

8 cards only? Nay, that's for nits. The best game is HU 22-card NL omaha played with super deep stacks.

the cool thing on 8-card Omaha is that you can have a Wrap on the turn that is a favourite aboute a set, even if the set has a wrap.

AKQ98673 on JT45 makes the nut-straight on any non board pairing river.

edit: guess AKQJJ876 ist still the favourite. so nvm

I'd say KQJJ8673 is probably doing best if we're talking board coverage
