Was losing my stack my only option?

The flop was J99.

I bet the pot, $70, holding JJxx. One caller.

The turn was a blank. I bet the pot and was raised all in. He was holding 99xx.

Aside from not even even paying to see the flop, was there any other reasonable option in this situation?

Thanks.

one hand that beats you here.. im always getting it in here unless i have a specific read on villain that theyre only making this move with the stone cold nuts.. even then, you have to decide if theyre only raising with 99xx or spazzing with a9xx etc

No. I think you over played your hand here. I would min bet that flop and fold to his reraise. Pretty obvious he has 99 here (he could even have 99aa or 99kk which would give him a chance to beat your hand twice by the river).

If I minimum bet this hand, when do you ever max bet a hand? Do you max bet a hand only with the nuts?

Once they get that I pay like that, most pots can be stolen from me.

Thanks.

I put him on 9Axx.

If I check the turn he would bet pot with 9Axx and also with 99xx. Does that not put me in the same position?

Do some players fold the biggest full house?

mario38 its not sarcasm bud because what else could he have here think about it, your holding the two jacks which means 1 jack left so its very unlikely he has the 4th one, so the only other hand he could have is 99xx to be shoving, and he is never going to raise you all in here with only a 9 rag (No Boat) since he is worried you could have JJxx or J9xx so many full house ahead of him to do that.

Listen a call is ok vs a fishy player but at the level you are playing at i would personally fold given the way the hand played out.
