Playing live $5/$10 NL Holdem, with one hand per round being PLO. I don't play a lot of PLO live so wanted to see feedback on a hand.

Only played one orbit so far, so no great read on villians tendancy's

7 handed at this point. 3 limps in front of me. I have king(diamonds), queen(hearts), 8(hearts), 9(diamonds) i call and so does everyone else. I have $1300 in front of me. Flop comes jack(diamonds), ten(hearts), 5 hearts). Checks to me, I lead out $50, folds to the botton and the botton calls($5000+/- stack, big stack at table) everyone else folds. Turn comes King(spades) I check my straight for pot control - not sure if its the right play. Botton bets $130, I call. River comes 7 (hearts). I lead out $160(not sure if it's the right play) and botton raises pot. What's my play?

I put him on one of two hands. Either the nut flush - or having the nut flush blocker and turning his straight or two pair into a bluff?

there is an argument for raising the turn here as villain will definitely have a lot of draws/combo type hands that you're ahead of. it really depends on your dynamic and how villain perceives you. however c/c is fine if you have a plan for river.

that being said, leading this rivercard is a gigantic mistake. you are rarely getting value from worse hands, and you put yourself in a position to be exploited by villain if he can get us to fold a hand as strong as this.

as played, probably folding here and moving on to the holdem rounds where you hopefully are not so clueless.

I realized the lead on the river was a huge mistake as soon as i bet it - just wanted to see from PLO experts what the play is on the river as played. I ended up folding, just wondering if it was the correct play.

River line is not as bad as was previously mentioned. Just as long as you also do this with bluffs and nuts

OP, IMO, your betsizing sucks (im talking about the river lead). Its as bad as that guy that made it 30 PF in another live PLO thread.

There is a feed back loop at work here. You find yourself in harder spots and perhaps even leveling yourself because of the bet sizing. Figure out what you are doing and then do it. This halfway stuff will get you flummoxed.

For the most part, I don't like stupid bet sizing, but there is a time for a blocking bet or a bet / r to induce.

Pot preflop. You have a monster hand.
