Hero-1.3k
Villain -covers

Villain has been fairly active. I view him as solid, aggressive, thinking player. I'm likely an unknown to him, and I've been playing fairly passive to this point so he might think he could bully me.

Hero- J853

Villain opens for 15 under the gun, 4 calls, hero completes in the BB (I know this is a marginal hand)

Flop: J85 Pot: 90

I check, villain bets 80, one call, I call

Turn: 3

I check, villain bets 300, fold to me.

I was a little lost on the turn at this point. I felt like I could have done anything here from leading the turn, check raising all in, to folding. I'm curious how you proceed, and how you would proceed if you decide just to call the bet, or if just calling is an option we should even consider.

Yeah fold pre. Out of position, marginal hand, nothing good can happen.

The difference between winning and losing at plo I think is in knowing how to fold preflop and most people cant'

As played I'm jamming, seems pretty standard absent more reliable and detailed reads

Calling seems awful given the stacks and number of draws

I'd jam. You can never be in terrible shape with 4 pair and a flush draw (plus you block literally every hand that beats you). Plus he can call off with worse, like AsXsJ.

I'd fold pre, these loose passive live games really just require you to make the nuts and let the fish who limp TT94 pay off your top full with middle full.

Never fold pre. I would lead flod. As played I call turn and check call all brick rivers (folding river spades).

Our hand is just a bit too unconnected, like we can never flop a wrap or nut straight with non flush redraw, or even top two pair + over cards.

I understand the fold pre camp, seems consensus.

Would you be more in favor of potting into him on the turn or check-raise all in. As it stands we both still have about 1k behind and about 300ish in the pot. I'm curious about the reasoning behind each line of thought if you care to share.

Don't lead turn.

Xr is much better than leading turn, a solid pro is going to play close to perfectly when you lead, plus it can be quite awkward for us on the river if he calls
