Re: ***HSPLO QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***
FC,
Hand 1 - I bet/fold vs most. Probably around $600.
Hand 2 - You're SB vs the BB? How can you "call and use your position" when you're OOP? With QQT8ss here I prefer calling to 4betting, though it depends *how* aggro your opponent is. If he's routinely 3betting/getting it in with stuff like J863ds or whatever then your line is much better. Also, a tonne of people will polarize their ranges to *not* 3bet bad aces or kings and only 3bet the better end of those ranges + more rundown type hands, to which you do much better against.

Re: ***HSPLO QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***
i knew there was a reason 5 of my last 7 sessions were losing lol.
fc- hand1- b/f
hand2- 470, raise 820, call 470....what? anyway i think it's fine vs aggro players. villain is only 1k deep, right? why 820 instead of stack i wonder...

Re: ***HSPLO QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***
sure why not. I am pretty sure this is ok but maybe i am out of line.
Live game. €2/€5 live €10 straddle.
UTG is a fish, if he is winning 500 he is rock tight but if he is losing 500 he will play like a monkey and bluff like its the new black. He is after gettign stacked again, is chasing and has just reloaded for €500 at the start of this hand. He is prolly stuck €2500 or so.
Btn - is a loosey goosey player with loads of money. He will almost always give action for any amount up to €500 or so and once he opens or 3 bets he will rarely fold to another raise. That said he is competent post flop. He is a significant winner in the game in the past 12 months but is prolly losing lots in the past 4 months. In general though he is too loose. He was winning in the game but has now gone behind. He recently reloaded for 1k and is playing €965.
I am in the straddle and cover both players. UTG limps for €10, couple of callers and the Btn pots to €60, I call €60 with KKJ4 ds with hearts and clubs, UTG limp raises to €240. Btn dwells momentarily, and says 'go on il give you action' before announcing raise to 820 or w/e.
I stick it in the middle. My rationale (thanks Wazz, I added that final e just for you) is that A) I am ahead of Btn and I am investing 465 vs his 465 for a side pot. B) UTG may well have AA alot of the time but when he is this tilted he certainly has KQJ10 to J1098 hands in his range.
So I expect to be significantly ahead in the side pot and have significant/decent equity in the main pot.
Good? Bad? OK? Other?

Re: ***HSPLO QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***
FC.
Hand 1: I don't squeeze pre-flop and want to hear why others like it. I don't. Flop is pretty much a b/f.
Hand 2: If you decided to 4bet this hand pre, just get it in pre. He will have like 180 left in an 1800 pot. It really doesn't matter if you flat and shove every flop or get it in pre. Once he 5bets with a 1k stack, you can't fold at any time and neither can he. If he is terribad and could maybe fold the flop, flat, I guess.

Re: ***HSPLO QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***
my question was for the 2. hand if you like the 4bet or do you just call his 3bet?
i am only 50% against a 20% 3betting range

Re: ***HSPLO QUICK CHECKUP THREAD***
BCB,
Just did some math on that because its quite interesting. You have ~ 23% for mainpot, and about 60% for the sidepot with 2 dead aces.
You investing about another 940 in the whole pot and you'll get back 23%x1500 + 60%x100= €945 return.
That appears breakeven, and I assumed the shorter player had AAxx almost always, which is mostly true given my experience with him.
Add in the small likelyhood that he doesnt have AAxx since he is chasing , then this becomes a much more profitable play, so I'd be shipping all day.

Yes it filters it out by including only top 70% of hands, probably a bit unnecessary here
