How do i continue this hand against someone who is considered to be one of the very best and most aggro midstakes regs on Stars?
    ***HSPLO QUICK CHECKUP THREAD*** Quote
    10-29-2012 , 11:57 AM
assume you have enough QJ combos in your perceived flop c/r range that if hes good aggro you can b/f and not feel too abused. think his calling range is prob wider than his betting range and i dont see us having many great river options once we c/c other than playing our range pretty honestly.

I've never played with him so no history, he was playing multitabling so probably reg.

Are you 3betting this w these stacks?

I don't want to bet and get raised and check calling is worst line here imo.

Probably standard, getting max fe and 1bet from floats.

phunkfish - id iso pre, and as played i actually think this might be a river fold given stated reads/situation/sizing on all sts.

vamoo - im not 3b pre vs the type of oppt i need to c/jam turn against to get value from floats - if hes tricky enough to be b/f turn reasonably often then hes tricky enough that i dont want to have an especially wide 3b range oop this deep. as for c/r vs b/c on the turn, how often are you gonna be b/f this turn yourself? the wider your barreling range, the more you need to be including hands youre willing to go with in it. id prob slightly prefer c/jam if turn wasnt such a complete blank, but i guess it can never be that bad.

second hand, what would you say your 3b % is in this spot? your hand looks decently like Kx and your overall range prob contains a reasonable amount of Kx combos so assuming an unremarkable oppt i think you can c/f to any non trivial bet and remain unexploitable.

    vamos hand 1

Being more than 200bb deep I dont really like the 3b at all. Even at 100bbs it could be a mistake against competent opponents. 200bb + I think folding pre is better than all the other options.

You flop one of the best flops you could hope for and still you are not comfortable on a blank turn.

On the turn with no reads I don't like a c/r since its hard for you play a made hand this way. Furthermore its not like villain is betting a bare K on the turn or picked up a draw that you would rather him to fold than to call if you had bet yourself. Also if turn goes ck/ck it would be hard for you win the pot on the river if it came blank.

I would just bet and call it off if got raised. The only hand that you're really crushed is pair+ FD which i don't villain have a lot that wants to raise the turn with imo

    hand 2

I would 3bet this pre since you are so deep and need to in order to get stacks in on the flops that favor you. Its not like you have really bad aces here.

I would fold river since when you call turn your perceived range has got so many Kxxx in it. Not sure if its exploitable, but even KQxx i think I would fold here. As for bet size here, since board is so static you would expect him to bet bigger for value and smaller as bluffs. Still I think folding is best regardless of bet size.

This hand bugged me. Sb was new to me but seemed on the solid side. he got his stack by getting AAxx pre agaisnt a fishs TTxx and by floping a straight vs a turned topset.

1k for me to call on the river.

in retrospect i should have called the turn maybe. dont know whats the best play..

    thoughts?

          def open UTG

postflop, call the raise, continue on hearts, blank turns.
Your turn decision depends a lot on villains tendencies.. ie if he has not many bluffs on his flop raising range, just call turn to fill or eventually bluff catch on rare good rivers (in scary looking rivers you have a change to go SD )... if he's betting more of a merged range and semibluff a lot, CRAI good turns.
