getting crushed at 1-2 plo 15 straddle home game

We play a 7 to 8 handed game every week and I cannot seem to adjust to the game and the tempo. There is one player who makes it 60 to 75 to go preflop 80% of the time and will cbet 150 on every flop regardless of holdings. How do I play against this type of aggression correctly? Here is a hand I recently played against him:

my hand: A A T Q

Preflop I make it 60 to go off of a straddle that is called in 2 spots, villian makes it 160 which induces 2 folds and arrives back at me to call 100. I reraise to 300 flat and he calls.

Flop: 8 4 6

I check he pots...I tank fold...

Am I just a bad player?

The thing is almost every hand I play against him goes this way unless I truly flop a real monster.

Any advice would be appreciated. I have considred short buying the game and reloading double my short buys on losses up to table max which is 1k.

Thanks in advance,

Heidi

stacks are 1k? so theres 60+60 +600 on the pot. $720... and you have left 700 ?

that makes very easy shove on flop for protection/value vs QJT8 or FDs.

Uhmm...You make him put in more money when you have the nuts?! What happened preflop? You basically minraised? Jack it up to like $500-$600 pre....then it won't matter what the flop is.

Flop with just over 1 PSB isn't bad, check/folding and betting are pretty close. Min 4-betting pre is absolutely terrible though. You have the chance to just make him commit himself to the hand behind, and instead you're just letting him know you have aces while only getting a tiny bit more money in pre, and leaving plenty of play for the flop.

^^ Yeah I think you misread iggy. We have 35%+ vs his getting it in range here + fold equity. Doesn't seem close.

I'm not sure about the flop, but the reason I'm not sure about the flop is because we didn't hit him over the head with our premium hand preflop.

Let's assume the stacks are 1K. You make it 60, two calls (pot = 180), villain makes it 160 (pot = 340). Back to you. You call the extra 100 (pot = 440) and add that to 160 = 600. You make it 600 straight, and the hand is over. Either the villain shoves pre and you call or you blind shove the flop. Easy game.

Edit: I didn't consider the possibility that the villain would fold pre. That's unlikely but would obviously be a great result.

Regards, Lee

You are leveling yourself preflight and hoping to hit the flop hard. Your hand is super strong preflop. Just pot pot pot all you can pre. Now if you do that, you can't make a mistake on the flop.

Sizing is awful. You 4bet 160 to 300? Just pot it, and obv get it in on the flop.

lol this isnt holdem. You don't need to have a 4b bluff range preflop. That 4b sizing makes me cringe

Practice saying the word "POT". Do not price people into hands that are clearly better then you and will outplay you postflop. Learn equity and be more aggressive pre-flop.

Consider sitting to his left play tight. Call behind him with hands and reel him in once you hit big with redraws. Establish a very tight image then wait for a hand like 88J10 double suit or hands he won't think you would play and when you hit he will think you have an over pair and let him donk off his stack to you.

I do agree witht the guys above though if you get the nuts preflop you have to jack it way up but he seems like the type that will call anything kowing you have a premium hand and try to suck out or out play you on the flop. Waiting for the right moment will pay off with hyper agressive players.
