Creating ranges with PPT

I play PLO HU. My 3-betting strategy so far was more intuitive than based on math or so.

My stats in the SB: VP: 30 / 3B: 17%

So now, as I am getting more and more serious with PLO HU I am trying to create some default ranges for when starting a PLO HU match. Especially 3-betting ranges.

I figured that the "rank" tool on Pro Poker Tools ranks a hand like AA72r as a 5 (vs. a random hand) while a hand like T987ds is a 28. Still as a default (100bb+) I would prefer the last hand being in my default 3betting range. Mainly because of playibility.

So what I am asking you and myself about it is, how should we create a sound 3betting stategy?

Another idea that came into my mind was to run the simulation on my holdings vs. his 3bet calling range. I once read that when OOP you want to have a equity edge AND a playibility edge.

- First of all, do you agree with this point at all? Do you need a equity edge to be 3betting vs. an unknown when OOP?

- Another question is, how do you figure when do you have a playibility edge? Is the graph (hand vs range) from PPT useful?

- How important is playibilty vs. equity edge vs. an unknown player when 100-150bb deep?
