Betting vs one opponent would be +EV play imo even though its a pretty wet board. Also vs a shove back by villain you would need more info on player...only folding vs a nit/nut pedlar but even then hmmm.

well it's very bad if ur checking to give up a lot.

betting halfpot(or 60%) seems std to me, then i guess we re evaluate raises/turns based on opponent.

If you want to use your blokker later in the hand you must bet. I would go by 420 and call a push.

Lol pretty tricky spot? AAxx OOP in a 3bet pot happens like every other orbit.

What the above posters said though, is c/shove ever an option?

agreed re betting to preserve the potential usefulness of your nut flush blocker. you also have some backdoor draws of your own so i think 2/3 pot/call seems fine. if we get flatted i think we can continue in some way on pretty much any card that isnt a non diamond 6,8,9 or 10.
dont really like c/jamming as an option unless oppt has a history of stab/folding whn chkd to on wettish boards in 3bps.

Re: AA in kind of tricky spot in 3b pot on the flop

I'm starting to wonder more and more if it isn't better to just check/fold in this spot. I mean we'd never C-bet this with like AKQ9, right? Does it really even help us much to have ~36% equity when we get shoved on to make a slightly better than breakeven call? I think if we balance by CRing this board sometimes when we hit, trying to check it down and hope for a free showdown giving up the rest of the time might be the best play.

Re: AA in kind of tricky spot in 3b pot on the flop

In practice I bet/call vs. villains that raise my cbet 30%+ of the time.

CRAI vs. villains that stab in position 40+% of the time.

Bet small fold vs. villains that raise cbet less than 10% of the time.

check pray vs. villains that stab less tahn 15% of the time.

Vs. guys that don't fit any of the above, I roll a mental dice (it's actually an old number 2 pencil I carved out in middle school, the image of it is burned into my mind though) Probably end up bet/calling to gamble regardless of what I actually roll.

What's your plan with the blocker if the 420bet gets called and the turn is a spade? Shove?

High variance spot- c/f feels gross but giving up 14bb here can't be that terrible considering we're flipping or worse like everytime we get it in

Forget using your blocker, SPR wayyy to small for that.

with no specific reads on villain.....
b/c is soooo standard...
don`t fool yourself by thinking there would be a better line to find...

Re: AA in kind of tricky spot in 3b pot on the flop

I think we are always flipping or behind any hand that raises us here but thats the chance we take by betting. I dont think this is a tricky spot as much as a standard OOP AAxx hand... These happen alot and I tend to give up on the hand way more than I should. BUT, at 100bb you cant make a mistake here. The blocker is mostly worthless in a 3 bet pre pot with 100bb.
