So I'm playing $1/$3 PLO at the casino. There are 3 guys (myself included) with a $1k stack and everyone else has around $500.

The players on this table are extremely loose and basically never fold preflop. They're just here to gamble.

So I'm dealt AA72r UTG. I limp in for $3 and UTG+1 raises to $10. 4 players call $10, it gets back to me and I repop it to $80. Then 5 players call my $80 raise.

So it's 6 players to the flop, $480 in there, it's a 2 SPR pot against 2 of the guys and it's a 1 SPR pot against the other 3 players.

What's your plan on any flop? We're only going to flop a set 12% of the time, so do we just x/fold the other 88% of flops? How do I approach this?

Yeah no ****, that's why I limp/3bet preflop. I either want to go set-mining with my AAxx, or I want to get as much in preflop as possible.

So are you just x/folding the majority of flops in this spot?

Limp/3bet with 200bb deep with this hand and with this line up is like letting 100 dollar bills on fire.

You should have just called knowing you have ****ty aces that won't flop well multi way

I play in a very similar game and usually I like to min raise here as it drives the shorties nuts and they Jam which allows you to come back over and get it 2-3 handed.

Although I'd only do it with better AAxx hands

At low stakes it can be good to min-raise open a lot of hands, as played xr is quite bad

So, what you're saying is it's blatantly obvious to you that your hand has no value multiway, so you counteract this by limp/3b pre when 300bb deep because everyone folds to those plays in live PLO?

You have to know if you can get raised if you bet more first, if so then the pot will be much bigger and your next pot raise will be alot bigger , as for the current contion you are in do about the same dont just set mine but try again on the flop to fold all but one out, if of course when the board is safe.
But alass they may not raise after you bet as much as possible , and then you can fold, a set is not a great hand in plo but being able to make players as loose as these fold is.....

Folding pre UTG is probably better than what you did. (playing 2 of your 4 cards face up while other 2 are useles). Glad I helped.

An alternative line (that I think is better) is to open with the hopes of getting 3b in order to 4b and get 40-50bb in pre. In the lineup you are describing, no one is going to fold to a back raise when they have already committed chips and have position on you.

When you open utg and goes multiway flat, then you give up on trying to realize your pf equity with AAxx and will be set-mining. Which is the same as your limp/3b line with the added benefit of only putting in 3.5bbs as opposed to 26.67bbs. You will get more folds with open/4b than with limp/3b and be able to isolate at a higher frequency which is good with bad aces.
