what do you achieve by betting 80% turn lol, check call turn

If he checks turn, and bets river you fold.

If he bets turn and bets river you call

Tbh I don't know if in a button straddle game if we should have an open raising range from the SB/BB/UTG and I don't hate a limp/raise if the rock is in the HJ/CO and you are in the CO/BTN.

I also don't like betting the turn.

I lead the flop fwiw, we have an equity edge but I expect to get flatted by a lot of hands. That being said, I don't hate a chr since he should probably be cbetting this flop.
