$400PLO spots deep

A couple of spots I had problems with.

#1 Probably standard, just wondering what river bet sizing should be. Villain does not get out of line often versus me.

DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

MP: $1416.06
CO: $2073.37
Hero (BTN): $849.66
SB: $116.00
BB: $400.00
UTG: $139.89

Pre Flop: ($6.00) Hero is BTN with 6 5 9 Q
1 fold, MP raises to $10.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $34, 2 folds, MP calls $23.50

Flop: ($74.00) 8 7 4 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $44, MP calls $44

Turn: ($162.00) K (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets $140, MP calls $140

River: ($442.00) 9 [color=blue](2 players)
~$620 effective left in stacks

#2
BB in this hand is quite good and BTN is the spot at the table. I would normally fold this pre, but the villain made me widen my UTG range. Too much?

DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

Hero (UTG): $668.91
MP: $400.00
CO: $1007.01
BTN: $488.23
SB: $992.18
BB: $674.50

Pre Flop: ($6.00) Hero is UTG with 7 7 8 4
Hero raises to $12, MP raises to $42, 1 fold, BTN calls $42, 1 fold, BB calls $38, Hero calls $30

Flop: ($170.00) A 8 7 (4 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, MP checks, BTN bets $125.25, BB raises to $542.75, [color=red]Hero ???

Thanks

This isn't the level I play at, by why are we 3b pf in hand 1 besides being on the button?

Re: $400PLO spots deep

#1 check/call. I feel like it's a spot where you are not going to get paid off or you'll get a raise from the nuts. Will he pay off with AAxx? or set? Either way I can't think of a bet sufficient enough to put him off 3rd nut straight that doesn't start to get thinnish. Maybe $275?

#2 fold and tebow

We're 200bb deep and this isn't a hand that flops the nuts or nutty draws like ever; it half hits the flops pretty often. So we would rather limit the number of players coming to the flop and lower the SPR.

Hand 1, I assume he checked, so bet already

Hand 2 don't play this UTG, and now jam, it's not like BTN or BB ever have AA and we block a 8

1) 2/3 pot ish is good
2) ship seeing as we can pretty confidently discount AA and we block 88.

basically this. but river sizing could be a lot of diff sizes depending on how u want to structure your strategy.

Re: $400PLO spots deep

#1 Holding the 3rd nuts vs a range your villian is likely to play (J10) if he really doesnt get too far out of line with you I would river bet somewhere between 1/2-3/4 the pot (basically what is said above with 2/3ish). If you get raised then call the tiny stack that is left and move on.

fwiw with such a small pot and so many ways to get outdrawn, i'm probably checking the flopped nuts and controlling pot size, espcially with a reasonable hearts redraw. This is a hand where anything that can you YOU have a good chance to beat, but they should also have a chance to beat you too (ie they are likely calling with better redraws in this spot, but of course may not get there).

I like your PF raise (either do that or fold this junk PF), but i'm not continuing just yet, check behind on the flop and start building pot (or take it down) on the turn. Saving that one bet is significant to long term bankroll survival in PLO

#2
Sure he could have AA, what the hell else could he possible have? In any case my opinion is skewed as I only play live high limit so this would be a snap call and run it 2 or 3 times with only 150BB.
Usually we are ultra deep (5/10 +25 voluntary straddle, with most people sitting bettween 3k-6k in front of them) and you learn to fold flopped bottom set with this kind of betting flow (he did have AA, right?)

I wouldn't be discounting bad aces all that much

Re: $400PLO spots deep

1) Size of VB depends on which level of thinking your at with villain and how you have VB in the past when you obvious have history with him. Im more inclined to bet closer to 3/4 than 1/2. Seems to be heroed more than a small VB and kinda protects you from getting bluff raised.
2)First off i open fold pre. As played ofc flatt pre. Post im shipping all day long. So many comboes your way infront especially if the mark has been stacking of like a donk.
