Villian in the hand is regarded as the best PLO player you have never heard of; I have played with him for a couple of days and just don't see it. He likes to be a hero (making huge calls with 2nd Pair NK, etc) and just seems spewy. The only relevant history between us is me squeezing his UTG raise and bet/folding on an A high flop.

What line is best on the turn here with so much behind?

20-40 PLO 9 Handed

EP Fish - 4k
CO HERO - 17k
BTN Villian - 22k

EP open limps and HERO raises to $160 with 7765. BTN calls and so does EP.

652 ($540)

HERO bets $400. BTN and EP call

5 ($1,740)

HERO bets $1,100. BTN raises to $3,500 and EP folds. HERO?????

Not folding turn. One combo obviously beats you but how many 66xx type hands does villain flat with on the BTN? Not many IMO. Also, this board is terrible for your range so I wouldn't be disregarding x/r bluffs here at all. If this player is a good thinking player he could (should) find some x/r bluffs some of the time to put your overpairs and random over card hands, like those with FDs, that decided to barrel turn in a tough spot. Call and play some rivers.

Pretty sure the choice is to either ship or call down. This hand seems to work well in a calldown range.

Call, and be sure to spike a river 7.

Folding turn never popped in my head. If he has better, he gets more of my money

It just seems very hard for villain to have me beat here. On the turn, why would he raise to shut out the fish? When I double barrel here 3 way it's just never a bluff. If he has me beat, there's zero reason to raise since you are shutting out easy money. Only a few made hands make sense here: 66xx and 22AKds type hands and none of them makes sense as a raising hand.

Would V over value his hands like AQQ5, AKK5 type of hands as we rarely have boats here?

Dismissing the poasibikity he has the one combo of 66xx, this feels like what keyvalue suggested with hearts. Embrace the variance.

Pot.

I really wanted to reraise turn small here since his line was so FoS. I was thinking about what I would do with a marginal combo draw (I would reraise) and wanted to be more sticky on these boards. In the end, it just really felt like he had a hand that was raise/folding; straight + BDFD type of hands.

I ended up calling turn. The river brought a low completing the backdoor FD. I checked and he checked back. Never got to see his hand since he mucked. No clue if I left money on the table.

You could just as easily be leaving money on the table with a click back on the turn. I think call is best and just hope he continues bluffing. On the small heart river, I like leading like 1500-2k.

Villain should know that we're not folding anything on the river that we call the turn raise with so should be shutting down with all bluffs. Even if clicking it back seems like a bluff 1% of the time then that seems like a better way to get more money out of him.

We can't fold A5xx exactly?

That being said, I do agree that we get more $ out of his rivered flushes by donking (even if it looks strong because, well, it is) than by cbecking and hoping he barrels 87xx / value towns himself.
