Online game where myself and two other guys are really stacked up (>230 bigs) thanks to a postflop maniac that was creating some huge pots.

Villain in this hand is a reasonable LAGgish guy, on the BTN.

I am probably seen as TAG (especially deep) with fits of spazziness.

I hold 5432. I am the effective stack at ~ $1150

Fold, I raise to 14 HJ, BTN raises to 49, I call (Q1)

Flop (105): A64

I check, he bets 70, I call (Q2)

Turn (245): 8

I check, he checks back

River (245): 5

I elect to be defensive and check (Q3).

Question 1: Can I consider throwing this into my 4 bet range? Issue with doing it is that I'm kind of obligated to call a 5 bet, so I'd rather do it w/ something more ragged that blocks aces, like a AT94 2s. Obviously I'm not going to be 4 betting much for value, which is another argument against. One pro to it is that I think he's liable to attack flops I nail.

Question 2: Same as before: passive line or aggressive line better? On A64 given ranges, there's just so few things I check raise for value here; I don't have a ton of 44/66 in my range, I'm probably not looking to get A6 in (maybe like A765 I'm going to town), and I can make decisions on turns by calling, too. Of course, I'm not sure what better candidate I have for a check raise semibluff (maybe like 8765 is better).

Question 3: Is there any value to be had here, given that he probably thinks I'm barreling the river w/ any 77 combo that somehow got here this way?

1. No, just too weak equity wise, always vulnerable to higher straights etc..

2. We should raise here sometimes, and will get crushed by better wraps sometimes, I'd call more than I raise

3. Yes, biggest pro of betting is we may fold a non-nut straight, biggest con is we may be blown off our winning hand, with turn check villain should not have a 7 very much

1. Assuming that btn is opening like 40% of his range on BTN, I think your hand is too weak OOP pre or post
2/3. How tricky is this guy with a nut straight on the turn? Does he ever check back the nuts + spade redraw on that kind of turn? As played, I'd most likely c/c on river.

Pre I wouldn't open this until the CO esp. with LAGs behind, 4 betting would be ludicrous. On the flop c/c is good. On this turn card, you could bet out 175ish planning to barrel off on blanks. River is a clear check. Your range is pretty much exclusively straights and showdown value. Nothing that would want to bluff.

wtf don't 4b pre. If everyone is deep, then pre is marginal; else, muck. Highcard strength matters.

Flop could go either way. I'd prefer to be aggressive since a lot of LAGs cbet too much, esp on this kind of board.

River is a clear x/c. Your reasoning is pretty whack; you think if you lead out, he'll put you on dry 77 and make a hero call?? There's better equity in letting him bluff his 8x-Kx hands that look like poop.
