2 - 5 game, interesting river decision.

It's live hand and I've been thinking about it a lot in last two days. So I even created account to post it here. Hope you guys find it interesting too.

Villain is very good player who actually plays higher most of the times. He's also a PLO HU SNG reg so maybe that's why his sizing is a bit different most of the times (seems to bet a bit less with all type of hands).
I played with him a few rings and we have some history. I shoved two times after his CB in 3bet pots and he folded, once he raised my CB on 852 rainbow flop (i had AAxx) but as we where playing deep by that time i decided not to continue even knowing that he's messing with me most likely.

Also Villain lost huge pot just hand before this (>3k). Big fish sucked out with one outer holding 222Q against his trips (yes it's true). So Villain can be a bit tilted though it's hard to say as he's very solid player.

Villain is BB - 1200
HERO is MP - 1600
hero is dealt 3459

hero limps and many people limp.
BB pots to 50 and 5 people call. POT is 255.

FLOP comes: 267
BB bets 250 (first time I see him bet that much), two folds
I easilly could shove here once again but I wanted a really crazy fish to call aswell. But he to my big surprise decided to fold.

TURN (755) comes 2
BB checks, Hero checks.
I saw no reason in betting here 'cause my opponent can put me in many hard positions on river or even ch/shove his air as it's very unlikely that I have a boat here. So actually i decided to call my 5 high flush on river because I know Villain bluffs a lot.

RIVER is 2
Villain bets 300 in to the pot of 755.
HERO - ?

Preflop, just fold. You rarely make the nuts with this hand and often end up in spots where you're dominated. If you are going to play this hand, not jamming the flop is criminal. I don't give a damn if the fish behind is blind and thinks he's playing 7 card stud. You have good equity now but you only have 5 nut outs. The last thing you want to do is let more players in and then have to guess on later streets whether you're good when you make a baby flush or dummy straight.

I'd fold the river. The only thing you beat is a busted wrap. He bet sizing looks like either a value bet or blocking bet and you can't beat anything he makes those bets with.

really no offense but you butchered this hand to oblivion.

fold at every single opportunity before the flop.
shove the flop.
bet the turn.
fold the river.

Re: 2 - 5 game, interesting river decision.

My thought process can be wrong but give it a thought.
My hand is bad and I know it well but it's a live game and I might need a lot of time to get a better one. The guy on BTN is playing the worst game I ever saw. No doubts that he'll go broke very fast.
Beetween me and are sitting 3 nits so most os the times I'll be playing effective CO. It's the best position I can get 'cause everything will be straightforward - nobody will be bluffing when the fish is in position to call down with TP. So if it's checked to me i can bet any mid strength hand and if fish calls noone will ever try to bluff.

So in that hand if fish was still in the pot and I made any of my hands and reg checks I can value bet my 5high flush all day long.

Can't I?

so much this. why do you want the fish in with a hand that can maybe overstraight or overflush you? also, we have no visibility on the turn and will be paying off higher straights and flushes, or villain will fold his set when we hit the turn or river sometimes. just pot at this point and everychance you get the rest of the hand.
