UTG (3k) Youngish WG, opens to 20 7 handed. Hero (3.5k) flats co with 45

Button (1.5k) flats bb (3k) flats

This is what i would call a "normal" table. Most are playing tight and straightforward. The last big pots that were played felted the looser players. Not a whole lot of bluffing and ive made a couple double barrells that have gotten thru. No one is value betting thin or check raising light so we havent seen 3 streets of action in hours and the ones that have arent that big

Example hand

I open utg1 with QdTd, one call. I bet 25 on 893d flop, turn Q i bet 50 river, 4, i cc a 50 bet and v shows 89ss

Flop QT4

Checks to me and I bet 45, everyone calls

8

Checks to hero

You aren't winning with a pair of 4's and you picked up some equity.

Since you're not the last to act I would bet again to set your price for the river card as well as fold out better club draws than yours that are unpaired. If you have an indication the button isn't going to bet then I would imagine checking is better than betting.

Keep in mind if any players are observant at the table you're going to have to start betting value hands for multiple streets as well.

I saw the title and thought: Why is 45 with a pair and flush draw even in a PLO hand?
