10/20 deep, tough turn spot with overpair+FD

Villain seems like a good player, opens 67% of buttons over 150 hands. On the turn every option seem bad... which one is the least bad? Still kind of good I have a 6 in my hand which makes it less likely for him to have hit 2pair. I would expect him to be repotting with any flopped 2pair, still think he could have all the sets in his range on the turn.

Board:
atomsh1p (BB): $2,081.48
loosepants (Button): $7,353.54
HERO (SB): $3,805

Dealt to HERO 6 K 9 K

Pre-flop:
loosepants raises to $57.50, HERO raises to $182.50, (1 folds), loosepants calls $135

Flop: ($405) Q 3 5 (2 Players)
HERO bets $303.75, loosepants calls $303.75

Turn: ($1,012.50) 6 (2 Players)
HERO

What sort of hands do you expect him to call with?

I usually hate all variations of c/c c/guess, but it seems like the least bad line here because I'm expecting him to float this flop lightly.

I'm pretty sure he's going to raise any 457x hand on the flop if he is a good player so I don't really expect him to have a straight.

I would bet like $872. Probably wouldn't call it off.

Tough spot. What is our plan for non diamond non K rivers?

I probably wouldn't bluff non diamond non K rivers because if I get called I expect him to have us beat basically always unless he has Qxxx with diamonds and I expect to get snapped off. Question is impossible to answer without more info on hero's image, villain's image, history etc...

In my experience villian is more likely to play straightforward when we bet turn. If I c/c I have to play a guessing game.

Re: 10/20 deep, tough turn spot with overpair+FD

i think the biggest thing to think about is his view of you, how often you c-bet, how often you fire barrels, what your barreling range can consist of....and then how aggressive he is and how light he might float etc. as far as betting the turn vs. checking, i think he's gonna be calling an $800 bet more often than he's going to be making one himself, like a lot more, so I'd check and see.

I think you should check with the intention of folding. if the turn was a diamond that didnt complete a straight I would prefer a c/rai.

I feel like if I was to check-fold here every time to a 'good player' I'm going to get robbed a hell of a lot.

Then why do you favor a bet/fold over a CR AI?

Re: 10/20 deep, tough turn spot with overpair+FD

because I think I'm almost overplaying my hand getting so many bbs in the pot on the turn. I'd much prefer to just have a wide barreling range on these boards.

Re: 10/20 deep, tough turn spot with overpair+FD

This is a very interesting, very tough spot, and when it looks like all the options are dangerous, I revert to keeping the pot small. My line on the turn would be to check and evaluate how much he bets, either folding or calling. My reasoning is that we can usually get to showdown cheaply when we're good, though of course we have no plan for the river and will be bluffed some of the time when we call.
